Settled the new city.
Finished BW EOT last turn, now my warriors are Str 4. Started on CoL because I probably will go Agrarianism. I am still not really decided (yeah, 74 turns into the game, no wonder my GNP sucks...). With Perpentach it is kinda odd. Of course right now it is an extremely strong option, being Financial. But what happens when that trait changes? Is it still good? I am pretty sure yes, simply for the -40% Maintenance and my goal to get more cities going. Though I hope I can sometimes in the not to distant future write up my thoughts on that topic. I have already prepared an overview about the different civics (well, I made a picture with all of them and their mouse-over information ) so maybe I'll get to it this weekend.
I also finished EOT the warrior in Argenteria and grew there as well. The same for Hexam. Freak there will finish next turn with some overflow. Worker and Settler in Coombe View and cap will finish next turn as well.

I feel that does sound quite right. Looking at Ilios - his score jumped up more then 100 points in the last few turns. He is now at around 485 - I am next best with 367. Yeah, doesn't look good. I could show demos but honestly you would simply see that Ilios is top in all categories. Anyway, if you want to see it say so and I will post them.
As told earlier we therefore try to setup a coalition against him. Darrell now send out the formal agreement which has to be "signed" by all parties
Quote:Each member of this distribution list has promised confidentiality. Uberfish, could you please get the same pledge from Mist before forwarding to him?
As everyone knows by now, Malakim has become the proverbial tall poppy. They have sizeable leads in GNP, crop yield and production over their nearest competition, and will soon have the Luchuirp as a virtual vassal. If we are going to prevent a runaway scenario we must work together. To minimize miscommunication, we decided to draft a formal agreement for the consideration of all parties. Firstly, a general outline of the map:
http://img695.imageshack.*us/img695/6280...world.*jpg
Strategically, we propose that Lanun, Calabim and Balseraph join forces and attack the Malakim from the southeast. We further propose that Ljosalfar join the Doviello push against the Luchuirp and continue into Malakim lands from the west.
Material commitment: Each side commits 200H worth of units, at least 150H of which enter Malakim lands by turn 97 with the remainder entering no later than turn 102. The composition of the force should be coordinated with the civs in your theater of operations. This might sound exaggerated, but the reality is we have to leverage our one advantage which is combined production. The Calabim are scrapping our expansion plan to deal with this immediate threat, and we expect and hope other civilizations will not allow this burden to fall solely on our shoulders.
All teams involved will be under a NAP. At the conclusion of hostilities with the Malakim, a cooldown period is in effect for 15t so that armies can return to their respective borders.

That picture there is mine :/ And I still don't know if it is right. As for the actual content of the agreement: 200 hammers worth of units? I have right now 5 warriors and 1 Freak ready, thats 120 hammers right there. So I won't have issues to fulfill that - the question is: Is it enough? No way to tell right now.
Anyway, as Darrell doesn't has contact with Amelia, it got forwarded by uberfish and because Amelia can't play right now, Bob answered
Quote:Quote:Hi pirates, sorry to hear about your computer Amelia
I understand from talking to Calabim that you guys were reluctant to join the proposed stop the leader coalition, I'm not writing to put any sort of pressure on you (After all, Ilios is very distant from me and I could easily just take the stance that he's someone else's problem.) Just curious why, as it seemed on the surface that you'd profit quite a lot from Ilios' downfall, and I'm trying to get an understanding for people's motivations in this game.
Oh, I did find the joke of a 2nd city site thats giving Ilios this lead... gold dye incense + RoK holy city it's the one north of your capital, you can probably see the borders. Lynch the map designer, obvious wolf

Hey all,
Just a note that while I'm nominally in charge of the Lanun until Amelia gets internet access back, she didn't give me any directives regarding diplomacy, so I won't make any decisions without her consent, regardless of how I personally feel about them. Building up for a war with the Malakim wasn't in her instructions, so I'm going to focus on other stuff right now. Do keep forwarding emails on to me / her, though- I won't share them with anyone else, and I presume she'll have something to say once she can get her hands back on the game. It also gives me some idea of what the heck is going on in the world outside Lanun borders (today is the first time I heard about any coalition) :P

Where to start? uberfish again tells that he is so far away from Ilios he could simply choose to not do anything. Well, do that if you want to - though I doubt that with 2 cities you will ever catch him or be able to withstand him when he comes knocking on your door.
Also this second city he talks about seems to be extremely strong for commerce but I don't feel that this alone explains why Ilios is so strong right now. I would love to see some screenshots of those lands, would make it easier to judge (and invade )
As for the Lanun: Quite clear already before his reply that they wouldn't do anything with Amelia being away. And with them focusing on growth they will have to be the next ones to be taken out. Well, lets get first Ilios done - if we are able to do it. I doubt that somehow to be honest.
edit: My answer
Quote:Hey y'all,
joining in on the ride. Any reply from Mist?
Kind regards,

If it is Calabim and me on the end, we probably won't do anything anyway.

Not much happening. uberfish told me that Ilios is not happy with my new city (no, really?) but I doubt he'll go for me now. Though I have some troops there (but clearly not enough if he comes with full force). Also Darrell informed us all that the Lanun will join in on Ilios, so uberfish (by his own words) has to join in as well. That would mean we attack on T97.
Apart from that, T75 was not very interesting I think. At least I took no screenies at all. Might be I played it in a hurry because I can't even remember that I played it :/
Well, T76 reached me so I will now look at it and then make an update on it.

Um, as uneventful as Turn 75. We have finished the settler in the cap and moved it north-east as I have not decided which city to settle next. Partially because I thought the Calabim do want to get this settler for their bronze city. At least they asked about the possibility and I replied with that they should make an offer. Never happened, maybe because sunrise is not available right now. But I don't want to have a settler sitting around doing nothing and I won't move him south only because there is a chance that the Calabim do buy it.
I have also finished the gems-mine next to the cap, that will make reaching CoL a little bit faster. My GNP still sucks but that was expected. Bad starting spot combined with bad opening (at least from a economic perspective). Needed to get AH for food, that made it really slow to reach economic techs. 4 more turns, then a switch to Aristocracy. Will not be good if I lose Financial but I probably will try to offset that with going for specialists and switching out of Aristocracy for more food. No clue if that works, we'll see.

I am sorry but there is still nothing happening. I have completed some troops but other then that I am simply moving more troops to the west to Illios, getting my settler up in the north and thats basically it.
I have also created in my new front-line city a Freakshow this turn, as to pop it's borders.

Well, still nothing is happening but I fear if I only write that, some lurkers will bite my head off - so, here you go:
Overview of my forces as of now:
2 Str 3 Warriors which need to visit a city (connected to the road network that is because.. uh, I still don't have enough workers, but I am working on that). 2 Warriors with C1 and S1, giving +60% against Melee-units. One warrior being Str 5. And 2 Freaks, but one of those will be used to pop borders sometime in the near future. What is missing is my adventurer with 66XP. I have to see what I can do with him - he for sure could become a PITA for Ilios
This is a picture of the surroundings of the next city I will settle. There is a Lizardman-spawnpoint (no clue how those things are called right now) directly next to it, but nothing I can do right now. I try to get some warriors there to get rid of it and maybe also get some XP when I am at it. Currently it has only one Lizardman, so I guess I am safe from attack for now?
And thats where I want to settle in around 9 turns. Settler is in production and forces on their way. That sure will cost several more gold in maintenance - but fear not, we will get CoL end of next turn and then we will save some money. Also I have saved more then 100 gold currently in the hopes of an event which provides me with... no clue, a two-headed dragon which breaths fire, moves 10 tiles a turn and has Blitz to top it off?

It is a ruin that spawns Lizardmen and the event you are looking for is this one:
Sordoa's Special Event Wrote:Your Freaks are jubilant at the discovery of a small glowing hamster in the back of your palace. After several prod's and a lick from one over-enthusiastic Freak, the hamster stir's and awakens. Do you:
* Toss the hamster a fresh McDonalds happy meal costs 20gp and you receive a Fat Bear (str1, weak, fat, slow, diseased)
* Ask one of your freaks to look after the hamster and nurture it. costs 10gp and your freak gets +1 strength after having eaten the hamster
* Discard the hamster to the sewers costs nothing and you receive a strength 30, enraged, crazed Hamster dragon with a penchant for faeces

Played my turn. Settled the city as explained. Finished a worker, a warrior and CoL. Will finish another settler in 2, another warrior in 1, an elder council in 1.
As for the 200hammers worth of troops which I have to provide T97 (respectively T102): 5 Warriors are finished = 80 hammers. 1 Freak is another 40. Makes 120 - so 80 to go. Thats another 5 warriors. So I should have everything by T89 around. 8 turns to get them in position is plenty.
Though I probably will provide some more troops, simply because I fear that already right now nobody is really in it with his heart. They all fool around - at least thats what I feel.
