Cryptic Crossword Clues

Well it's kind of hard to know what the right amount of hinting is, I don't know where/how you're stuck.

J. Maniac in traffic reportedly never crashes. (8,6) (not solved!)
Reportedly is an indicator.

L. Money collector is in the lead of land of wild game. (6,6) (not solved!)
Wild is (a slightly unfair) superfluous word.

IV. Document explorer? (7)
Think maritime
I have to run.

I take pride in not having the general knowledge required to solve this without googling... Although it rings a bell now that I've found it.

Nice clue!

29. Literally went rogue facing force field barrier. (6)

Paling (Paling = field barrier, Literally went rogue = Palin (author of "Going rogue"), force = g)

(Also never having heard of a paling before didn't help...)
I have to run.

zakalwe Wrote:Crucially, there is always a part of the clue that provides a direct definition of the solution, and the rest of the clue (which may in some cases overlap with the definition) is some kind of word play, for example an anagram or a hidden word.

Isn't that considered unfair?

zakalwe Wrote:32. Colored fish was coerced. (7) (not solved!)

Is the solution

Sawfish
I have to run.

Yeah, I've seen clues where the definition overlaps, but I agree it should be avoided. All of my clues have non-overlapping definitions.

IV. (Another nice one.)
charter

Your suggestion for 32 is incorrect. That one is really quite straightforward.

Ah, I see what you did there. How the hell did you come up with that clue then?

Ordering spoilage alphabetically - I guess you Aegilops is some trivia word then - the longest alphabetical word in the english language, perhaps?
I have to run.
