We (by which I mean LP) should probably post something saying we support banning it at CFC. That's clearly the direction this is going, might as well join the chorus and not make it look like we were going to be using this.

Pretty sure I saw you suggesting people from CFC were DOS-attacking us earlier so I appreciated the irony as well .


Anyways, let's just move on from this and not use it. I think in the future for something like this, let's wait a bit longer for a team consensus before going to the admins unless it's severely time sensitive (it was definitely not here).

We support banning this exploit. While it will be difficult to enforce this, it would be good to make a gentleman's agreement and trust each other to honor their word.

That response manages to combine the downsides of doing nothing (people don't know whether it's legal), making a public ruling (leaks strategic information from the team that asked if they could do it), posting the exploit (people who know about it are more likely to use it), not posting the exploit (people have plausible deniability about what they're doing being illegal), banning it (it provides an easy way for people to profitably cheat), and allowing it (people are likely to use it and it's a bit broken). I don't know what to say. I feel like an idiot for suggesting we tell him.

At least we learned something. From now on we should assume that the Rolo really doesn't understand competitive civ play, and try to avoid getting him involved unless it's absolutely necessary.

There is a proposal in the server and the admin threads over at CFC to set the turntimer lower.

I think we should second the proposal, give our experience of 22 pitboss hours being roughly equivalent to 24 real hours, and that Caledorn should get the leeway to adjust the turn timer so we can reach as closely as possible to a 48-hour play window.
