[SPOILERS] *Placeholder* Zakalwe plays a soldier

Dazed is backing off.

Also, I lied about that 4-turn settler in the capital. After some simming, I figured that I'd better play to my strengths, and if there's one thing I know how to do, it's stunting my growth for an early wonder. Of course, there is no rush at all with stonehenge. The early wonder in question is the great lighthouse. And to get it ASAP, we can't afford to plant the horse/clams/corn city just yet. So instead, we're building stonehenge, which will be very useful, and doesn't cost any money.

Here's my micro plan for the Great Lighthouse, in pictures.

T34: All four workers are busy mining, roading, and pasturing.

T35: Adopt Hinduism to keep Brunei happy. Pass the cows to Andorra, for growth in 1. Worker moves from sheep to forest 2E of Andorra.

T36: Bronze Working complete, start Sailing. Brunei completes a warrior, starts a settler, and takes back the cows. One worker starts prechopping NE of Brunei, one chops 2E of Andorra.

T37: Andorra starts a worker, pausing Stonehenge. Worker moves NE from silver, to road that tile.

T38: Start prechopping NE-E of Brunei. Chop done 2E of Andorra, completing the worker.

T39: Complete worker in Andorra, resume Stonehenge. Workers move onto forests SE-S and NE-N of Brunei. Worker 2E of Andorra moves into Andorra. Worker from Comoros moves SE-SW and chops.

T40: Sailing complete, start Masonry. Brunei start lighthouse, working silver, plains hill, fish, cows. Worker from Comoros moves closer to Brunei, other workers move onto forests and start chopping.

T41: Adopt slavery, whip lighthouse in Brunei, working silver, plains hill, cows. 80/40 hammers in the box at EOT. Andorra completes Stonehenge, starts settler.

T42: Whip settler in Brunei, working fish and clams. 130/65 hammers in the settler at EOT. Andorra works plains hill, cows, deer, deer, to complete its settler in 2, aided by a chop this turn.

T43: Settler moves 4N from Brunei. Complete Great Lighthouse in Brunei and settler in Andorra at EOT.

So in short: Stonehenge EOT40, The Great Lighthouse EOT43, fourth city on T44, and fifth city on T45 (SE of the capital). Six workers. Hopefully copper will appear on one of our two mined hills, so I won't have to change anything. smile

Played T34, nothing new to report.

I did notice that Novice has culture on the highlighted tile above, which means he settled his "backyard" wheat.

I also have graphs on Novice this turn, just as a note to self in case I need to go back and check at some point.

I'm glad you think so. At first I thought my plan might be a bit extreme, but then I went back and checked PBEM17, and Novice/Spaceman got TGL at EOT38 back then. Granted, they were Sury of India, but still. I'll start watching the GNP numbers on Sailing and Masonry to see if we have competition. The Great Lighthouse is so obviously strong here, that it would be strange if we didn't. Though I guess the others could be prioritizing the Oracle, Pyramids, and Mausoleum. We each have enough forests for 1-2 wonders. I'm fine with blowing ours on the lighthouse.

So I take it this plan means you're going CoL before Currency?

I'm not sure how you leapt to that conclusion? I haven't really thought about it yet. We still have a ways to go before we're done with the basic worker techs. smile

But early CoL would be nice both for rathauses and for a quick great artist using caste system. So it's very possible, yeah.

Yeah, I was thinking about how you'd naturally garner a GPro and a GM before the artist unless you hit Caste early. Bonus cool points if you avoid Math and steal Colossus. wink

I don't mind a prophet, for a shrine. Not sure what I'd do with a great merchant, though. Maybe he could bulb something useful. Or can you do trade missions to people you are at war with?

So I was thinking originally I could make a mixed-odds artist/merchant in Brunei, but on second thought, maybe a mixed-odds artist/prophet in the capital would make more sense.
