Revert to the autumn patch for the game, if allowed. You can do that on the steam client with Paradox games at least. Right click on the game in the Library section and bring up the properties box. Go to the Betas tab and chose the preferred update from the drop down menu.

I think we probably need to identify which of the cities aren't worth growing in the current climate and stagnate them before they reach the size where they'll eat another amenity.
Definitely going to slow us down quite a bit.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

What has the patch done? When did it come out?

Came out yesterday and the big change is a city can only receive industrial and entertainment district overlap bonuses from one city. Having multiple districts in range of an industrial zone does nothing now.

I don't see this for CIV6, suspect this is a Paradox vs. Firaxis situation in this case.

Tactics wise:
- Our smaller cities will never have much production, alas. I guess I'd get them to go campus -> commerce zone -> trader and then start buying buildings.
- Growth is now that much more important. I would pump out a few workers if we have cities that can 3-4 turn them and start building farms for housing/food.
- Amenties-wise... things look complicated. Zoos should still be the next stop, I think - each one is basically a free amentity as long as we space them right. Liberalism +1 amentity for each city with two districts, and MP with Retainers should do us in the short term. In the longer term ...uh... I have no idea. Zoos everywhere?

We'll have to dive into the amenities formula. We'll have amenities for our pop points + some for each entertainment/arena combo we build, and then +1 for properly space zoo and +1 for properly spaced stadiums, and WW will mess with us something fierce. Another way to think of pop points is that you can spend them for districts, eg. the pop point which unlocks another (useful) district is better than growing it to a city where we won't benefit as much...

The more I think about this, the more I become convinced that amenities won't be so bad. Zoo + stadium + liberalism + retainers means that can grow any city to size 11, for free. (New Deal means we can grow any city to size 15 - if we feel like taking a huge gold penalty.) On top of that, we have 4 amenities, for 16 * 2 = 32 'free' pop points, (of which at most 8 can go to any one city.) Colosseum and the odd entertainment district help as well, as will colonizing another couple amenities if we can find them.
The only thing that I'm not sure about is WW. How does that work? If it's at all a problem, Spain probably has to go. Being a bad boy is sad, but that +2 food/+2 production late game civic < population.

Except we aren't too zoo yet, (or are we? ) and stadiums ate near the end of the civics tree. So eventually we can get cities to that size, yeah, but not anytime soon
EDIT: will try to play tonight. But again, errands. If I don't play tonight you might as well have Gaspar jump ahead of me as I'll be out until Monday for the holiday.
