Other than JR4's island ( and ocean tiles ) No one can hide units from me, i can also see if someone is prepping an army at my doorstep/ sending troops my way. Which will help in future wars.

1 turn away from war, and because only Charriu was kind enough to give a guess to the target... ill just say. Ipecac. Im almost his rival in power, and he has basically no units down here. i should be able to run over a fair chunk of Ex-Yuri territory providing that DS doesnt just Peace-out immediately... he should crumble. Behind my stack of knights i have a decent stack of cats and i have plenty of rifles ready to go. Eating most of Old-Yuri lands should rival JR4 in land. Im currently racing towards railroads and everything in between.. ( because im likely stupid and really like Machine guns )
I basically lose this game if Wetbandit hits me with his stack of units down by WLP area.. My only real hope is that Wetbandit has to be wary of JR4 hitting him as well. JR4's units are in the same scenario down there, and his sea advantage can really only be used for blockading/pillaging. I will rule the ground army.

Next turn i shall grab 2 more cities, and ill have my slower 1-mover stack heading over.

Lurkers.. Blood will be spilled. My hope is that i can secure a 2nd or 3rd place behind either Wetbandit or JR4 depending on what they do.

Here's to an interesting game!

Nice job striking a blow at the forces of tyranny and blah blah BLOOD!
What civics are you running? Are you whipping for these rifles or did you manage to tinker micro to get so many done next turn? How much you you anticipate being able to annex off of Ipecac? What are your war aims? Tech path upcoming? Path to victory? Second or third isn't terrible but, as Ricky Bobby says, "If you ain't first, you're last".

Running buro-merc-slavery ( not really all that good i know ). I whipped a little bit, but most of these are 1-3 turned. My hope is ( providing DS doesnt peace out ) to get all of former Yuri. War aims- Ex-Yuri lands, + Yuri. Tech path is straight to Railroads. Path to victory is- eat ipecac+ yuri, JR4 and Wetbandit go to war, and i pick my targets from there. Well im doing marginally better here than pb38... but i know i need a really good bit of luck to pull off a win, hence the 2nd/3rd and hoping my heroic defense in pb38 scares off any late-game 1v1's.

Took 3 cities off of ipecac, but had to split my knight stack a tad.. He has a fair amount of cats but only 3-4 actual hitters in range, he could possibly retake a city but he would suffer very heavy losses. Ive got 5 rifles and about 14 cats in spitting distance of my recent captures for added comfort. ( ill be adding alot of rifles to this stack over the next couple turns ) Ive recently noticed that my tech rate is pretty much shit compared to the others atm, so i believe i made the right move declaring war.

Made a rather clumsy move as im still very new to having players that will scout ahead b4 just stack attacking ect.. So a couple turns ago i left 8+ cats and like 1 rifle+ 4 knights or something to defend them a tile or two behind a city i captured from ipecac... Well he must have moved forward enough to spot it and slammed it down to 3 cats.. so now i am rebuilding and will be pushing into his next city in 2 turns, and it will fall in 4 turns or so. Dark savant took a city or two from him, and i still have vision so i know once i break this next city, unless DS gives me the middlefinger... his main army is going to be FAR away from my front. :D

gonna post some screenshots later tonight but gotta go play cards with the grandparents-
Couple things,
1. idk if its "normal" or if its just bad manners... but ipecac continues to delete units before i would be able to just straight up counter attack ( he even deleted the only defender for a city.. )
2. I am much farther behind in basically all categories than i had initially thought. Im getting stomped in pop, food, production, gnp, and land. This war is basically my only way to achieve parity with the leaders and thats only if it goes well.
3. Ipecac triple revolted last? turn. I dont know off-hand how many turns of revolt we are gonna see before he is whipping and drafting every city.
4. Things i want to do in the next new pitboss that i failed here- More workers eariler. If choosing an "early rush" civ use that more to my advantage in some form ( doesnt mean war ). Learn how to build the right wonder for the map "looks at JR4". Dont always think that people know your intentions even when you believe they are super obvious ( Yuri and my scout ). City placement so that you dont waste resources...
Any other questions for myself, please post below.. i will hopefully be able to post some screenies later on tonight.

Probably just normal. If he has units that are basically guaranteed to die with no purpose to him (slowing your advance, damaging your attackers, etc.) and would only feed you Great General xp, then it is standard to either withdraw the units or, failing the ability to do that without risking feeding you free GG points, deleting the units.

MapFactor = Standard size for this game (here). Value for formula = 8. Other filled in values from T-Hawk's post (copied below in spoiler tag). So count up Ipecac's number of cities and do some math:
If I've used the formula correctly (entirely possible that I have not) and making an approximate assumption on Ipecac's city count based on your current number of cities and revising slightly upward:
If Ipecac has 37 cities or fewer (within a range) = 2t anarchy
If Ipecac has 38 cities or more (within a range) = 3t anarchy
T-Hawk's post:
Quote:I searched for this, but couldn't find it, so took a code dive to post it here. Here is the formula for turns of anarchy length when changing civics. The code is at getCivicAnarchyLength in CvPlayer.cpp. [] means round down to integer. This assumes anarchy is actually occurring, of course; no Spiritual trait or Golden Age or Cristo Redentor.
* This is BASE_CIVIC_ANARCHY_LENGTH from GlobalDefines.xml. It is 1 in the standard unmodded game.
** This is defined per each civic in CIV4CivicInfos.xml. Every civic is 1 in the standard game.
MapFactor is from iNumCitiesAnarchyPercent in CIV4WorldInfo.xml.
11 Duel
10 Tiny
9 Small
8 Standard
7 Large
6 Huge
SpeedFactor is iAnarchyPercent in CIV4GameSpeedInfo.xml.
67 Quick
100 Normal
150 Epic
200 Marathon (yes another factor that favors Marathon for HOF type score play)
StartingEraFactor is iAnarchyPercent in CIV4EraInfos.xml
50 Ancient
50 Classical
40 Medieval
40 Renaissance
34 Industrial
34 Future
34 Modern
The function also multiplies the anarchy time by 1 + m_iAnarchyModifier (by calling getAnarchyModifier()) but it seems that this is always zero in the unmodded game. So here is a short version omitting some of the rounding and divisions by 100 and assuming an ancient start:
I'll elaborate a little more on that one factor of [Cities × Map factor / 100]. This is what makes civic changes take longer later. It is not due to the game date or to any previous civic changes; it is driven only by your number of cities. Every N cities counts as one additional "ghost" civic change. On a normal map, it's every 100 / 8 = 12.5 cities. So your 13th city, 25th, 38th, 50th, and so on each cause extra anarchy.
This explains why you can change 2 civics in 1 turn on normal speed, but not epic speed (assuming no city count penalty.) On normal speed, the anarchy length comes out to (1 + 2 + 0) × 1 × 0.5, which is 1.5 rounded down to 1. On epic speed, the same operation comes to (1 + 2 + 0) × 1.5 × 0.5 = 2.25 rounded down to 2.
Well Wetbandit put WLP out of his misery. I continue to build 90% units, to go stomp some ipecac ass. ( or at least try ) he abandoned his front city, which i thought was a tad bit odd.. as now i have a new spot for my cats to rest without fear of flanking.. Maybe he knows something i dont? OH well, ill take the "free" city and continue to stream in 4-5 units a turn. At this point unless he focuses only on me, i dont see his Ex-Yuri lands lasting more than 10 turns. One small fear i have, other than JR4 boating me... is Wetbandit going thru Yuri lands and smashing into some of my core cities.. that would be shitty. All in all, unless ipecac collapses i think im looking at a 2nd place finish. Maybe 3rd place if DS gets way more land, or Wetbandit slams into me. Im not conceding to JR4 atm, but i see him as clear leader atm. Better Eco, better army.. i cant really see where he would have to screw it up to get knocked down.. Maybe if Wetbandit goes full tilt and ends his game? Food for thought.
