Oregon Trail is building axe in 1 turn. Leap Frog will grow next turn, but won't be able to whip for another 2.
I really hope he does a straight forward attack on either frontline city. If he comes around the right side of Oregon Trail he could fork that city and Space Invaders. I'm going to have 2 workers chop out the forests around space invaders for axes. 2 workers will start chopping forests over at Sim City also for axes. Also, might try to time a chop with a wall. Walls on a hill might deter him?
So a lot of time in civ 4 war you want to go second so you know if you have to whip or not. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to whip to the ground. Being 1st will allow me maybe to move an extra unit or two in.
I decided to declare war this turn to take the first half of the turn timer. Also, immediately offered a peace treaty. I whipped this turn, which makes 5 pop in the last 3 turns. He doesn't know that 2 of that was for a library and a worker (which mind with chops will pay for itself in this war). Or maybe he is going after someone else?
EDIT: DISCLAIMER: All these decisions were made at 5 AM after the baby woke me up so maybe. They make sense right now though. If he takes the peace treaty I don't have to whip Lemmings next turn, which is my best way back into this game. Would also probably have to whip it the next couple of turns.... Seeing all my whips maybe he will go after one of his other likely two neighbors (BTW I don't remember if I mentioned but he actually didn't know Gira his NE neighbor until about 5-6 turns ago.....)

He cannot have 6 praets - the most he could have is 5. Top power is 70K
Hunting, mining, wheel, BW and IW (all of which he must have) or has been shown to have: 26K. A praet is 8K, so 5 is 40K.
Most likely it is 4 and he has 2 barracks and some warriors.

Yum numbers. Is there a good article on this?
I posted the below a few posts back, don't blame if you missed it in my ramblings. I probably wouldn't have been looking for it if you hadn't mentioned it a few turns back though.
Quote:Top power jumped to 94000 and he's the only one who's been whipping that heavily.
So it could be 6 prats. That being said it can't be much more than that? Maybe a couple of axes and chariots alongside.
I worry for the turn pace of this game. SD is the most consistent person to double play turns. PB52 may catch this game if I hold long enough (SD is the only person we wait for there, vs GKC sometimes in this one as well). I don't blame him for wanting to play multiple games or having only 1 play window during the week, but I wish he would fit an early morning session in on the weekends.

oh - I missed the jump to 94K. yeah, that could be 6 praets.
the article is this one:

I wouldn't worry about turn pace, unless turns are routinely taking 2 days to play or something. Early game goes very fast these days, because there are no decisions to make.

SD took the peace treaty. End of turn 77 he planted his 7th city! My 6th was sadly delayed by Oregon Trail doing a 2 pop whip for 2 units instead of the settler. Its regrowing to size 3 next turn and I have a chop incoming for it. Mind Gira, Ramk, and Vanrober are all still sitting with 4. GKC is at 7 as well, but that's not surprising.
His power is still really high. I'm wondering if maybe I wasn't the target all along? Even if one of those 2 pop whips was a settler and there was a worker whip or 2 in there, why have that much power? Maybe I wasn't the target all along?? Or he is just planning on keep building his manufacturing and food lead. Prats are good forever, he can always come back. Still not sure what the long game. I can't imagine his tech rate is good. Speaking of: the most obvious question is how is he affording all this? 7 cities and a large standing army. I assume his army of workers will start cottaging at some point, but he might be the low number below on GNP. He's lowest of the people I know at least.
Turned back on math. Have exactly enough gold to complete in 6 turns. After those whips I dropped from middling to bad in most categories again. However, there is one area I look good in.
BTW: I'm starting to wonder if people thought I was going to build the Oracle because its not built yet and it should be by now??? I thought for sure Gira was the one who would be doing for metal casting. My plan is still hanging gardens. I probably won't be able to get 4 settlers out, but 3 should be doable assuming no more SD war.
This whole SD as close neighbor is getting old. Once you get past the rush stage normally its pretty safe especially with having hilled cities on the border. Especially on a donut where I essentially only have 1 neighbor. It really irks me I can't be as greedy as possible with a nice farmers gambit.

Superdeath has gone to prime SD - he used to ruin people's game by early rushes. Now, he's ruining people's games by not rushing early.

I mean you have to admit he can run an early empire. He's keeping pace with India on expansion. A lot of that is being expansive but still impressive. I guarantee doing his 5 pitboss's or whatever he doesn't sim either. I just wish my near neighbor had been anyone else or that SD had not picked Rome...... On top of my own stupidity, which is already a steep hill to climb, I'm having to react to his moves more than I would anyone else.

Please, build cottages instead of farms at the rivers. That's the main point of being Financial. Where have you planned the Gardens?

He is expansive. Are you sure he's the high power? What does the power graph look like? If he's at 7, it seems like he's running a farmer's gambit, not gearing up for a praet rush.

That is the only farm on a river I have planned. Space Invaders is about to lose the grassland sheep to city #6. Space Invaders was meant to be a filler city down the line, but was settled early due to availability of workers, military, and wanting to get city #6 going faster. I also am in need of workers and settlers if I'm going to make the gardens worthwhile. My plan is to keep growing Space Invaders to 4 and either whip out a settler or worker as much as possible over the next 20 turns and for that it needs food (probably worker, settler, worker).
Hanging Gardens, Mausoleum, and Notre Dame are wonders I am currently looking at putting into Sim City fueled by chopping its vast forests with the stone bonus from city #6 and organized religion which will come after math. Will make for an ok national epic city.
@AT I am pretty sure. I realize I still owe graphs from after I got GKC. WIll do next turn.
