It is still a random card. Sorry. nono

It's not random, you draw the next card from your deck. Just place Call Pet as the 5th card of the deck and Highmane as 6th. Go first, play call pet when you draw it on turn 2. Go second, play call pet with coin on turn 1. Both times, you'll draw the Savanna. Not random at all.

Far Sight (is it, the 3 mana shaman card?) would also be pretty good.

Maybe these cards need a change in the non-random mode. Maybe. crazyeye

Which is exactly my point on how a non-random mode restricts card design, as well. How do you design cost reduction abilities when you can always choose what you reduce the cost of?

1. Even if it is balanced, that kind of power creep kills a game.

2. If you want. Shall I make another decklist? I, at the least, have a devilish potential opening scenario in mind for Pirates of all things to face.

I'll try and make a deck now, though I don't play much Hunter, but I just want to post the idea I had in mind: T1 Coin -> Call Pet into Tundra Rhino, T2 Call Pet -> Savannah Highmane, T3 1 mana Tundra Rhino + 2 mana Savannah Highmane, hit face or clear as needed (Note I still have a full hand too).

Also could be fun with Starving Buzzard...

You see, it is fun to build this kind of decks. lol Non-random draw is not bad. mischief

Going through the exercise to make combos is indeed fun! Actually playing them on a ladder for an extended period of time is what I (and others) are saying wouldn't be very fun, at least not for very long. It's like those ridiculous OTK for every class videos - neat little puzzles that would be terrible for the game if they were actually viable.

Why not? Too scary? yikes

If there was a deck that could easily win against all comers the game would be boring. Removing degenerate cards/combos is good game design.

Fun to build, maybe, not fun to play. alright Though I probably wouldn't like making these without us being in a discussion over it to be honest. lol

I just took this Hearthpwn Hunter deck ( http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/223887-sp...master-s13 ) and replaced a Freezing Trap, a Volcanic Drake and a Piloted Shredder for x2 Call Pet and 1x Tundra Rhino, so this deck is hardly optimized for non-random (Face Hunter is almost certainly better, but it doesn't have fun Call Pet shenanigans to theorycraft, so.). But I don't play Hunter often, so I felt that modifying a deck in a random format would be fine: Probably not close to as good as it could be (Midrange is probably a terrible idea in non-random to begin with...)
