So what happened to all of the original teams? I know why TEAM crumbled, and I have a decent idea of what happened to the Trolls, but what about the other three?

Thanks guys! I have to say the way Trolls started the game should become the textbook. If we hadn't discovered Smoothfoundland (the other continent) we'd have conceded around t160 after our failed attack on them.

Q - Scooter and Seven got bored of the turn pace, but it really suited me as it allowed a lot more thinking about parts of the game I hadn't played properly before. We still had Cheater Hater contributing every turn and YossarianLives fairly frequently right up to the end though, so I don't think Gillette totally fell apart. Perhaps the original team sizes were a bit ambitious?

What happened to TEAM and the others and how do we get the forums unlocked?

The Gillette password is razor if anyone wants a poke around.

Our start was far from textbook . We had to fight against TEAM that decided to mess with our sand castle and settle aggressively towards us.

Your key to win was diplomacy i.e. securing 3M and Pirates to support your win. Of course without other continent that wouldn't have worked, but it was there and you took advantage of it nicely.

In TEAM everyone just stopped contributing (slowly) leaving the game as basically Krill commanding and Lewwyn turnplaying. There was a bit of lurker input but it gradually died and after Lewwyn had to pick up diplomacy as well he eventually just vetoed one of Krills decisions to take a peace deal with the Trolls, at which state he basically just sole played until he left, handling everything on his own (and doing a pretty good job of it too, although he stopped reporting soon after) until he abandoned it. I started feeling guilty about the start of this year and tried some amateur reporting/trying to make a proper team but it was waaaay to late by then, and no one really cared anymore. Then Tasunke took over the Civ, and later dropped it for me. Curiosity before I start on your threads: did anyone think I was a spy after I started buying Troll cities? Stuff in the secret forum started to get inconsistent so I wondered...that's part of the reason I sold the middle city on

Oh yeah, for the benefit of the Trolls I had the conspiracy thread bookmarked as "we're all going to get killed by Trolls". Q - we did become suspicious until you sold TheStick that city, so the last few turns we mostly just sent emails instead.

I guess Gillette ended up with me commanding and turnplaying and Cheater Hater pointing out the dumb decisions and keeping some semblance of a big picture, so not that different from TEAM... I'm a bit surprised that Krill took part at all - I took his original sign-up seriously

Thanks plako, I think being Viking helped a lot on this map, so whoever originally chose that for us should get some credit. Also if your string of bulbs, wonders, first-to bonii and streaking off into the future isn't textbook I don't know what would be.
