Usually people don't break down the door to visit popular people.
It's not really that bad. I like that I now have 10 turns of peace with Mjmd and I don't have Sailing in the next 15 turns anyway. But the timing of all those war declarations were just perfect.

Somebody unknown to me built the Great Lighthouse.
Lazteuq moved his axe 1NE of Nobilia on the forest tile. That's great, because I feared he might try to threaten Township too. I send him a cripted message with war on GKC and peace. Basically I want to focus his attention to his other neighbor, who in all honesty is more dangerous then I am. Maybe he falls for it.

Lazteuq really knows how to make friends. No deals or help for him from me in the near future. I expect him to move 1NW next. In that case my axeman and warrior on the horse tile will move into Township and my other axeman to the pig tile. Maybe this will put some sense into him. And don't come at me with a cease fire. I want a real 10 turn peace deal from you, buddy.
Other then that as you can see I started Metal Casting. Nobody so far has it so that's a good sign for my wonder plans. As you may also have seen my neighbors are already 2 cities ahead. I plan to stay on 5 until Metal Casting is done. Reason is that the city maintenance will eat me alive and I will never make it in time to Metal Casting. That's also a good moment to have a look at GNP of me and my neighbors.
Mjmd is doing very well so far even on 7 cities. But let's not forget that he's CRE and there is also a lot of culture in there, so the gap to me is actually a bit smaller. But Lazteuq is on a whole different level. Have I mentioned that he still hasn't connected his gold tile?

Laz did not threaten Township and instead moved to the pig hill tile. Most likely he wants to stay there and keep being annoying. But eh eh eh . I moved 1 axe and 2 warriors on the jungle tile and 1 axe and 1 warrior to the forest 1S of him. Should be enough to kill his axeman I guess and finally get rid of this nuance. My Colossus plans are not in danger so far.

Lazteuq's ToDo List:
- Playing under the influence of alcohol: Check (According to tech thread)
- Making one neighbor an enemy for this game: Check
- Not connecting the gold tile: Check
- Ignoring ones own economy: Priceless.

How much damage is he doing to your plans?

I can work around it. I will need axeman eventually so it's not bad to have them now. Collosus is getting close and maybe will be delayed by 1 turn. We'll see

This is so far my worst turn in this game.
I don't know how this happened, but it's totally my fault. I somehow thought I get another turn before Lazteuq therefore producing another axeman in Nobilia. Totally my mistake. Well now I'm at his mercy. He can easily take the city and most likely raze it. I see the following outcomes:
1. He takes the peace I offered him this turn and shows mercy. In that case I will be very grateful and might forget this whole incident.
2. He razes Nobilia. In that case he makes me an enemy for the rest of the game and I might be willing to throw everything against him and take my revenge. It might be my mistake if I lose this city, but he started the whole mess with pointless aggression. In that case I think I have to the right to counter with pointless aggression.
3. He takes the city, but doesn't raze it. I may be able to retake it. This is the awkward ending.
But that's not all of it. Somebody researched Metal Casting this turn. Which is very bad. I might loose the race for Colossus and if so then only because I went for Hinduism. In that case another one of my mistakes.
Maybe I'm not built for MP.

I think one problem I haven't mentioned so far is that I'm not in it with my whole heart. I was excited to play in a big game, but even before Laz's attack, I noticed that I'm loosing interest in the game. I think the problem is that I left myself not enough of a break. I remember that I started PB40 just after 3 month after PB39 and after PB40 I had the feeling that I'm not made for MP. I made a big break of 23 month between start of PB40 and PB52 and I remember that PB52 was a much better enjoyment. Between the start of this PB and PB52 were 8 month.
Maybe a bigger break was necessary.
But don't take this as I'm stop playing this game. It's just an observation of myself that I needed to write down.

Five stages of this game:
1. Denial: Laz only wants to explore
2. Anger: He really wants to mess up things
3. Bargaining: Please stop harassing me and leave me my city
4. Depression: He razed the city
5. Acceptance: ???
If you haven't guessed already, we are at #4. Well this is the point were I at least give up microplanning. It's no longer fun if everything fails. I will still attempt Colossus and finish Metal Casting, because why not add another failure to the list. When I think back to PB39, were I explored with an axeman, I now know that I'm too nice for this. For those who don't know there I explored to and moved past Dark Savant without attacking or anything. That's why I think I'm not made for MP, because I'm not aggressive enough.
Thinking some more about the difference between MP and SP, I have to say as much as the game gains by playing against humans it also looses a lot of fun elements that builder types like me enjoy like building more buildings, attempting wonders for the fun of it or attempting one of those integrated win conditions like culture, space or time victory.
