Sorry all - I am going to have to request a break (my turn). I just got laid off, lost my work pc (obviously) my home pc graphics card dies when it tries to run civ. At this point in time, I am not even sure that I can keep going in this game - have to concentrate on getting a new job.

Of all my civ activities, if I keep 1, it will be this game.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

For whatever reason Civ is a pretty graphically buggy game in my experience. My current GPU is an ATI 4890, so Civ with every setting maxed is no problem. However even with as little demand as the game throws at the card, I will will see a graphical artifact from time to time.

Treachery; betrayal of the foulest kind!

The Western Realms Beyond were rocked today by the news that the vile Arabian conglomerate had violated a solemn and binding agreement with the Ottoman Empire - one of "Non-Aggression" - by brutally ambushing the forces gathered outside the Holy Roman City of Vienna.

Many have said that they were coming to the aid of a beleaguered ally, but our reporters have learned that the mission of these Upstanding Turks was to restore Peace to the region. Despite suffering casualties at the hands of the Underhanded Arabian Camels, these Brave men managed to safely deliver the articles of Accord to the forces in Vienna and heal the rift between the two previously warring nations.

As for the Arabians; they slunk away on their Camels, attempting to delay the inevitable retribution.

When asked for comment, Ottoman Emperor Dreylin II issues this statement:

What has been wrought upon our nation today cannot be undone. Words cannot express the depth of my grief for the families of those Noble soldiers who perished in the pursuit of Peace. I pledge to them and the rest of the Realms that Justice shall be dealt swiftly against the betrayers.
