First in hammers and second in crop yield though, that's good. No thought to tossing a library in Slite and letting it work the scientist with the fourth/sometimes fifth citizen?

Library in Slite. I'm stupid. I was going to get a Library there, but didn't think about a specialist for some reason

Well, being Joao...as good as you've been about getting cottages down, you're going to crash the economy. That's fine, but library scientists will be needed to pull out until Currency + island settling (for IC-TRs).

Joao II. Crashing your economy since 4000BC
Yeah, agree, scientists will be a huge help. And remember, we don't even know if that land in the ocean is an island, or just another part of the same continent

Writing is in. Chose Maths as the next tech for now, but will probably have to switch to Sailing soonish. I have no money to support research anyway, all the gold we got from huts is spent
Got a couple of Workboats out to explore the land overseas and hopefully find something interesting
Whoah, here's something interesting already: a source of copper which looks much more attractive than the Red dot. If there's food around, and it's an island, moving there would be great. It won't even hurt the economy (intercontinental trade routes FTW)
I will found Farosund shortly, it can work the fish, a GLH mine and two scientists and be useful. Then there are no more good spots to expand. I need to hold off the expansion anyway, otherwise the economy will become so bad, I will get to Currency by the time Lewwyn gets to Tanks

Peeked into Meiz's territory. Don't know what people are saying about cities being undefended, Meiz is certainly defending his
Found some food for a potential island city. I'm keeping research on Maths for now, but definitely will switch to Sailing once I have enough money. Still no happiness resources though
The empire. I'm going to build Libraries and hire scientists everywhere. I need to slow down growth, and can't do it by whipping, because I'm out of things to build! Can't even build units, I'm already spending 4gpt on unit maintenance, when every commerce point is precious, and will need to add bronze-based units for defence when copper is connected. I finally have stone connected, and am seriously considering going for Pyramids, at this point I can use failgold as much as the actual wonder - I just need a little something to fuel the economy. Bailout anyone?
Since I'm going to get Sailing anyway, TGLH could be a good idea. Don't think it will be a hugely contested wonder on pangaea in an always war setup; but all my cities except two are coastal, and even 2 extra 1cpt trade routes per city would be helpful. Need to think about it, I won't get Sailing earlier than in 10 turns anyway

Unless you are an utterly incompetent banker, you won't get any bailout...

I was thinking more about bailouts for incompetent governments, using spit and a prayer to keep the eurozone together
But you're right, we didn't invent bankers yet, so they can't be incompetent, and we won't get a bailout

Farosund was founded in the NE corner
Next turn I will whip 2 Libraries, and a Granary in Romakloster. The capital is unhappy for a turn due to whip anger. I will let it grow to 6, then whip a Library there as well
The island in NE
Nothing to write home about. A city for IC trade routes would be good though. I'm thinking 1E of the copper, it will even be a decent production city later
In the west, my Workboat met Elkad's Workboat. Our second contact!

Switched to Sailing. Should be done in 4 turns, then it's back to the Math/Currency limp. Started a Settler for the island city. Will connect copper soon (5-7 turns, not sure on the exact timing), I need better defender than Warriors and Immortals
