You popped 5 GPs during the GA? 400-800? Or more?

If we think building universities before forges is the way to go, then I'm all for getting liberalism and nationalism ASAP. No reason to muck about.

I did sim only ~T132. We get 400 from HN, then 500-600 from WIFOM+OTR after that we get certainly 1 from HN and I think we could also squeeze 1 more from Caipirinha so we would be at 800 then. The Caipirinha one could be also delayed to make sure we get Oxford up as fast as possible.

I think Universities 1st is better. Our Oxford would be delayed, if we go for Forges 1st unless we go on very heavy on whip that I don't think we should.

Are we gonna try & get that NAP extension with TEAM before we start the golden age?

Actually, that's just reminded me - I don't think he likes gchat much, he was saying something about it in the d&d thread. An email might prompt him to log on & talk to you.

If I'm reading all this right, we've got ~20Turns of NAP that we're going to crush through with a GA and GPP farming. What are the thoughts on military after that? I imagine everyone else is going to raise some eyebrows at our score jumping with all the techs we're going to roll in.

There is a fair chance we need to focus on our military more than we're now planning. I had a chat with HAK and there are some early dogpile ideas floating. I'll put that chat on diplo thread a bit later.

We probably should head towards Liberalism and Taj no matter what, but we should also consider how to handle our military needs. We could adopt Nationalism alongside with slavery+OR and take also Construction after Liberalism. Drafted maces and cats would be main defenders, but then we would need also Knights if real action seems inevitable.

If we decided we wanted to try and stomp on everyone militarily instead of go for a peaceful win, what would that look like? I mean, should we just plan to do that rather than hope for sunshine & roses or are our chances still better if we do minimum-necessary military (and just change our definition of minimum necessary)?

Could we power through Rifling while in the GA? We could then draft Rifles for defense and go for Cavs if we want some offense.

Yeah, we should go for rifling ASAP. We can draft some maces and muskets along the way.

We really should aim for some NAP extensions, though, and be willing to pay for them if necessary. Getting Oxford up without being distracted by military needs would be very nice.

Maybe give one of our neighbors a GP for a long NAP? (Obviously not as a starting point for negotiations.)
