[spoiler] Azza hits them for 6

Mechanics question because I'm curious ... What happens if you capture MoM, launch the GA, and then lose MoM before the GA ends?

It only matters on the turn that you fire the golden age. In that case, you'd get 12t in a Golden Age.

This is what I thought also.

Dick offered me peace for 4 cities. Not going to happen.

He's actually assembled a pretty big stack. I may need to mobilize my reserve army. I don't think I will be able to push into his territory any time soon since he's basically whipping his whole empire into the ground. Well Dick's got no chance at winning, what's he got to lose? I should be able to hold all the cities I've got unless I make a mistake.

Dick offered peace and I took it.

Zanth/Gavagai will win. Why? Take a look at the graphs.

and demos:

The goal next is to tech Education and build Oxford. Settle a few more city sites that have opened up due to various wars. Then wait until enough people to want the game to end.

Dick settles another city right in my face. What a Dick move. smoke

I noticed he got a Great Artist a few turns ago so he could culture bomb me.

He revolted out of Slavery, so I don't think he's planning further conflict. If he was planning an aggressive move, it would be much more awkward for me if had settled the city 2 tiles east and Artist bombs it. He would threaten 3 cities that way.

Meh, I will let him get away with it this time.

Furungy and Mardoc is fighting at the moment. I could legitimately backstab Mardoc now that I have over a hundred units sitting around doing nothing. But nah, the risk is too high and reward too low, beside I wouldn't want to get a reputation as an aggressive player. twirl

Btw I'm now up to 2nd in score. smug

At last we start to build Oxford, Turn 228.

Bought some Stone from BaII.

Victory screen:

I own about a fifth of the world after absorbing 2 other player's land. Will start a golden age after completing Oxford. I will probably go Rep, Caste, Bureau, and Free Religion during the GA. Pacifism is probably not worth it for me since my unit costs are around 150 gold per turn, double that and add inflation? Ouch. I don't have Lib but I do have the Shwegadon Paya. After GA I will swap to Rep, Slavery, Free Speech, State Property and Free Religion. These will be my end game civics. Slavery vs Caste is debatable but I think I will stick with Slavery. I should be able to tech Philosophy->Lib->Scientific Method->Communism during the golden age.

I'm up to 38 cities and have the room to settle 3 or 4 more. I don't think I will be able to attack anyone again without the next generation of military techs. Infantry and Artillery is what I would need at least. Considering all my neighbours will soon/already have Infantry.

Meanwhile, 2metra is getting rocked by Zanth. Losing a city a turn, sometimes more.

Dick declared war on Jowy-Bot and apparently lost two battles:

I think at this point it's beyond reasonable doubt that Zanth is going to win. I already said that I'm ok with conceding, wondering if anyone else is feeling the same?

Oxford complete.

5 hammer city center tile, you don't see that very often (plains hill iron with Levee in a GA).

Peace treaty with Dick expires and he didn't attack me. A good thing, I suppose.
