Pindicator was blind, but not dumb...so he rolled dice and killed my trashed chariot. Ah well. frown He's a little out of position, but I'll only be able to push his horse city if he gets aggressive.

Current development. I just need a couple more techs, and then Construction to clear my French problem. Might be an issue if Pin tilts and builds a million horse archers, but that's what sentries are for. Growth focus!

My needed focus on mines and power has had unpleasant distortions in the ole demo front. Ichabod in particular just absolutely floors me with that crop yield. Impressive work! thumbsup Nothing else to be done, alas, and the power at least will be put to great use keeping Pin containedish. Pity he went tilt early like this.

I need lots and lots o' good foody cities. As you can see, I've signed OB with The Human Hydra so I'll be going for Sailing next after a rapid 3-turn Writing (Oracle due end of those three turns nod ) With trade routes we should keep the economy going, and with heavy power investment already going on Wellsworth ought to be not too much of a defensive issue. Keep on planting.

A real question, should we manage to pull off Oracle, is CoL vs. Math.

I love my fast workers so very very much. Here's Peel Godred before:

...and after:

Three forests being chopped for a grand total of 39 shields. 4 hammers per turn from awesome city tile plus working a forest. All the cool kids pop their borders with wonders, right? I'm on track here in awesome Peel Godred to have the Oracle in three turns. I'm reasonably confident in winning it; only other religion is Pin's right now. I did toy with trying a crazy Feudalism bulb but Monarchy just takes too long. Better to get Peel Godred up with those nice food tiles fast...this is going to be one bloody powerful city.

Settling on a plains hill marble just makes all the sense. A quarry only adds a single hammer and two commerce. 2/3/1 tile beats 0/4/2 any day of the week. yup

I'm pushing here down in France; I don't particularly care what Pindicator does, as long as he's reacting to me and not vice versa. There is a tiny chance that he misses the fact that my great general axe is in range of his city now. devil But more likely, he kills my corn-pillaging chariot and I retaliate against the spear doing the deed. Just keep 'em on the defensive and with luck in three more turns I'm researching Construction.

Here's the newly grown Kingdom of Sodor! Kirk Machan (on sugar/deer/horse/ivory) and Wellsworth (pig/corn) should bring me to a competitive city count shortly. I'll then be hurting for courthouses or currency, but lots and lots of green riverside will be sprouting cottages and I'll hook the ivory; growing big cities onto investments is still the best way of crawling out of a crash.

Looks like Ichabod went and got himself Judaism. Good play, Isabella loves OR and all. So while he's not probably about to build the Oracle...he's got every reason to cheaply pick up Priesthood and take a shot at it next. Glad I didn't opt for anything too ambitious. Here's the top cities screen, by the way. THH seems to have faded a bit; Dazed is rocking an extremely nice capital that might finish Oracle in between turns. Otherwise, I think I'm solid.

...or, he'll still and gnash his teeth, watching me pillage his lovely capital's bounty. I expect to see *some* kind of movement next turn; it's anyone's guess what exactly he'll do. That's a chariot and C1 warrior on his hamlet, by the way.

Just sleep, sweet Pindicator, and rest, and flights of angels shall sing thee to thy rest and all your toils shall be over and you shall be born again in a new nation, where banners still rise in the morning to hope and your kith and kin and kine look to grow and prosper into perpetuity. Night is fallen; silent now are the horns. Strike your colors and gain a merciful surcease. There are no glories here that remain, only ash and dust and spite that sours in your gut to a black ulcer of despair. Just move a little wrong, just misjudge a single step, and it will all be over in the blink of an eye and the beat of a heart.

Peel Godred is also sporting that most excellent Oracle trait of instant cultural security. I like it!

Yes sir! It's actually benefiting Kirk Machan too; the third-ring pop will get those grass forest deer in just in time for a worker to arrive after hooking Peel Godred's cow. Third-ring uber-culture is how half of my culture-less little plants get by.
