[spoilers] OT4E is gonna try something special

Mr. Cairo's GA finished but he is still doing 2000 GNP without much expenses. I think he is helping his science with hammers.

I am 1 turn from my own GA, 3- man one. I will turn Nationhood and merc for sure. Switching on Representation is what I am thinking about, probably yes. But recently pindicator haa started making pressure on me from sea. He put 4 galleons in our inner sea, though he see that everything is well-covered. What is it? Morale pressure or real attack?

He could use this as a trick and make a separate attack from land seeing I am pulling troops back to the middle. My front city is very important because its cultural pressure, it is making something like 40 culture per turn, has HE and providing me 3 promo unita. Can he take it? In fact I doubt, because his army mostly consists of catapults and HAs and I have janissaries there, but no castle.

Could it be a signal to Nyles, who looks passive and not engaged for a while. He has a stack of longbows in his front, some HAs and probably new brand knights. But how much could he bring? They both have guilds for long but I never seen them slaving or growing power.

I think I continue my plan going for MT/Rifling directly. Golden age must help. I dont think it is worth going for Astro right now and lose Colossus. Even if pindicator pillages all the seafood and blocks most of the coasts I lose more if I lose Colossus bonus.

I whipped a couple of caravels in each of my ports. It will not stop pindicator but must slow him down and force to keep units in stack.

And I need to do something with him, he is annoying.

Next turn I am getting Spiral Minaret.

Pindicator got Nationalism. I declared him war and cleared his caravels. So if he is going to jump in with galleon he must do it in blind mode. Offered him peace treaty, but I doubt he will accept. Though he may reply with caesic fire. In 2 turns I will have something like 10 cuirassiers out. But I am not in hurry because I'd better wait for Cavalries before making any move. If pindicator continues playing against me then I will have to focus on him and let Nyles live.

Forgot to mention that Mr. Cairo has got Rifling and has already perform several whips. So he will get more in the addition to his first power. But I have about 1500k hammers in prebuilds and is finishing stables and baracks everywhere. So I hope I will not fall behind. But chumchu or DTG are in trouble.

Mr. Cairo has got Astronomy and performed 7-8 whips more than regular. Can it be dangereous for me? Probably. His Caravels appeared in the sea to northwest from me, where I have just one city and I believe Mr. Cairo has one either. What is suspicius is that he brought 2 caravels there at once. In fact you can throw ships from one sea to another here easily.

Also I could be disturbed in the southwest where I have just planted, though I havent see any activity from Mr. Cairo there yet.

Manwhile I am 4 turns from Rifling, but may be I postpone it by little to make more prebuilds. 14 cuirassiers ready and military advisor shows 45 janissary, but I cant hope to get them in one place.

I noticed many of barbarian cities around and plenty of unsettled land. I think once I start getting some progress in war I organize many settling expeditions and  barbarian campaigns. They have cities size of 8 and buildings inside, so it can be easier to get boost from those, but not from the rival ones.

Science is about 1800 beakers turn, also I have crossed 1000 food point and noticed that after whips Mr. Cairo has less.

Pindicator to my surprise gave me peace and made fake war with Nicolae. Why? I cant explain yet...

Time for a new attempt to attach Nyles's to me. This time I am coming from 2 sides.



Nothing special I have invented, so it will be long slow siege. Nyles noticed my preparations over than 10 turns ago and each 2 turns he whips all his cities. This time it wont help him though since I really brought more than enough and invested much in this campaign including 2000 gold for upgrades. The main thing is that he is far away from Rifles, the only thing could help him.


Here is my total unit count, but some cavalries are left at the pindicator's border. May be I need to think how to release them from this duty and use in attack also.


Meanwhile Mr. cairo has started eating chumchu. He wins special prize for not seeing that he is gonna be attacked heavily 2 times this game.


The thing what Nyles did easily seeing graphs and probably sight of my cities due to espionage and chumchu didnt. GG chumchu. For me it is really bad news because chumchu will fall quick considering galleons. And good move from Mr.Cairo again.

Here is how it looks like:



Nyles has 5 cities left and literally no army.



37 triple promoted muskets and comparable amount of longbowman dead.

But this costed me a lot. First of all I have lost 16 cavs, 5 cuirassiers and 5 riflemen. And the worst thing is WW, each new turn of war brings me +100 and it is already ~700. This means that 70% of my citizen are unhappy with war. Weird.



This made me regret growing high pop because even wtih ~10 happy gap they became unhappy really quick.


Also I am vulnerable for foreign invasion though it doesnt look that anyone is going to use it, but everything is possible this game.

Meanwhile Mr.Cairo is getting Communism.
I have Steel and Astronomy researched by 99% but I am falling behind because I cant maintain this tech rate especially with war unhappiness and soonest loss of Collosus bonus.

This must be the last turn of Nyles.


Also it is one of the last turns I can use Colossus. I pushed Steel a few turns ago and making some drydocks, after it I will get Astronomy and start making the fleet mostly everwhere.

Time to set new goals and it is not easy choice for me.

Meanwhile Mr. Cairo is advancing forward too.

Well, the game is suddenly over and I want to say a few words  about it in general.

I am satisfied with the game fully. I am not happy that it was called but considering such a big map it was going to drain much much time.

I managed to try something special: I built economy on coasts and wonders, I tried serfdorm combined with Sofia. I oracled medieval tech and was building Oracle, Colossus and Pyramids at the same time. I tried castles + harbors+ GLH. I was close to 4-gp golden age and had plans for 5-gp, thanks to Partention. I was about to try skipping State property to continue using free specialist from Merc.

I agree that I got lucky with neighbors. I tried poor chariot rush but Ipecac did everything to make it work well. My other neighbor was pressed and eliminated without me so I had plenty of land, but still managed to get 3rd location for myself from Stardoors.

Mr.Cairo on the other side of the world played pragmatic game. He got only one key wonder but it was better than the full house of other wonders I have got. He used it wisely and got to this overpowered mercantilism very early. And it made his game. 

I was doing fine till the moment I adopted serfdorm for the first time. I was still 1st power but pretty vulnerable for direct well prepared attack. So Nyles did, it broke my game. I had to run urgent GA to turn back to slavery and whip 1/3 of my pop. Also my counter attack on Nyles failed into dust and I found out myself in rather bad situation with jannisaries but without any proper way to use them.

After that I was constantly catching up and I doubt I had a chance to remove that technological gap between me and Mr.Cairo by any reasonable point. My GNP was showing high numbers but it demanded renovation. I couldnt use Colossus any longer because I needed proper ships to defend my coasts and deliver my army into enemies wide lands. I couldnt use castles because I finally needed Economics to advance to Assembly lines. I was about to lose half of my monk features after Scientific method. 

Of course I had a plan, but it wouldnt be an easy journey. Of course pindicator without proper defenses was going to rise my chances higher in long race.

But circumstances turned in the unfortunate way and we cant finish it. Well I guess draw is the most fair result we can call because noone has got clear advantage.
