Well I always take 9 in utility when I jungle (Nunu, Xin, Amumu, Yi) and the extra 15% neutral buff duration, whether this is a good idea on all these champs is likely debateable.
Can you jungle Noct with 21/0/9 masteries? It'll speed the jungling up (unless you need ot keep recalling) and give your ganks a bit more oomph. @ Speaker - The situation Sullla + myself were in last night (duolane Caitlynn + Sona) is fairly typical of the games I'm in. Often the lane I'n in can outharass and get a little deny going (unfortunately can't deny XP that hard when you're last hitting and they aren't), but ulitmately can't take advantage of the fact that they are down to 25% of less HP and get kills. Making a dumb play to try and get that kill is a problem I often have (I'm sure you remember 3v5 kamikaze Amumu!) because I try to turn a minor win into a decisive one.

That was almost entirely on me last night, Dantski. You were playing fine as Sona. I misused my skills as Caitlyn and cost us 2-3 kills in lane. Simple as that. About all I can say is that if you see someone out of position with Sona, go for the ult and don't wait to ask your teammate. Your instincts are probably correct.

I'd say that at least a point in Utility Mastery (preferrably two, but not if you want the 21 point in offense [not defense, I like the Smite Mastery too much, which is why my Amumu goes 1/14/15]) is mandatory for jungling unless it's some oddball jungler who doesn't benefit himself much from the buffs (Shen, when he was still good) Dantski Wrote:Can you jungle Noct with 21/0/9 masteries? In all my Nocturne games (when he was free; unfortunately I misspend my IP when I should get them to get all the good junglers while they're fresh) I ran 16/0/14 and if that managed to work well (jungles fast and safe, doesn't need a leash on blue [although it's always appreciated], can easily do the Vamp Scepter route at Wolves or Wraiths), 21/0/9 will be even faster, but will lack things like the Flash mastery and 2/2 Utility Mastery. I wouldn't go x/21/x on Nocturne because I don't feel it plays up to his kit... And as for PlasmaPuffball, he can steamroll, but Speaker has a more competitive attitude while Plasma enjoys oddball games. ("I told you that I ALWAYS get first blood when I solo mid Twitch."  )
Yeah I've been thinking of changing my mastery setup for Noct jungle. The reason I've been using defensive masteries is that I started jungling with him before I had any armor runes. I've been purchasing them one by one, now I have all I need and probably won't need to spec def. Just haven't made the switch yet :P
