Hey chaps,

Chatted to Krill this afternoon. He & Memphus figure that we (Lin) are
in a 3-way alliance (probably figures with you guys) to tech
Mon/Maths/Alpha and proposed that they could offer IW+ to the table. I
procrastinated a bit and he's planning to talk to Kalin tomorrow.
Obviously we've already lined Broker up for that part of the deal, so
we may not be able to put them off with excuses for much longer. BTW,
sounds like Broker will hit sunrise's borders fairly soon - sunrise
can you coordinate him to hook up with rego afterwards?

Yes my warrior is heading south (westish) and I'm sure we can coordinate.

As for the Incans, obviously we knew that we would not be able to stall them forever. I mean we're talking 30-40 turns here, so that's probably not going to happen. But every turn (day) that we stall them, the less their chances of lining up any other tech deals. As well as the higher odds that other people will duplicate their research (putting us further ahead by comparison).

So I think continuing to stall is good, and maybe next you can say something about how that doesn't sound like a great deal because Iron Working is less beakers?

Obviously the more we can stall them the better but as I pointed out it can't happen forever. I'm more than happy to continue to let the Lins negotiate this and reap any ill will.

How long can the masquerade continue!!!

In turnplayer news, I was last to play T45 this morning, so I got to play 2 turns. In what could be construed as annoying, I forgot to end turn on T46, BUT I realized on my way in that I need to change the silks back to the floodplains at Cincinnati, and I could not remember if I had done that or not, so it all works out - this way I can make sure when I get home.

Pottery came in on T45 and Cincinnati switched to granary. 2 chops will come in at the EOT47, and the granary will be done a few turns later. Green Twp has Spearman due in 3, so I figured that was enough time that I could send its garrison warrior, Charlie out to the east to explore and find any good city sites.

Eddie the warrior fortified in Cincinnati, and the rest of the warriors continued exploring. It has come to my attention, now that I know that "circumnavigation" is possible via land, that it could come in handy for mid to late game naval lake action. So I will be giving that a try.

So I was trying to go through the C&D department today. I've been backlogged a bit. I was going through the score increases. I have all the demographics screens for the last few turns but need to put them into my spreadsheet before I can analyze them at all.

So T45 all the Creative folks got their land points for the 3rd ring, except Broker, who got his several turns ago due to holy city culture.

Ruff discovered Iron Working, and Shady, Dreylin and Krill all also researched a tech.

ZPV got 7 points on T45, which is odd because it doesn't fit with anything. I am now thinking it's Stonehenge. That's a wonder that makes a lot of sense for him since

a) He's not creative
b) Most of the other civs are (including the only Ind civ), meaning they have less incentive to build it
c) He's Charismatic, which means the free monuments are also worth 1 happy face.

I should be able to see it ingame if I check, but I did not.

So it is looking like T80 or so for the big tech trade. They will be founding their 3rd city a few turns before mine, in my current plan (which is to found the Whitewater / Moai city on T62)

As far as I can tell, he is near Broker on one side and Imhotep (but a bit further away).

At least those are the civs that I know have met him.

T47 (I think?) played this morning. I had a message from Krill before logging in and sure enough I have met their quechua in the west.

Both Alex (in the far NE) and Bob (in the SW) have ended their turn next to bears. Bob is at least on a forested hill but Alex is just on a regular hill.

Chops came in at Cincinnati - growth to size 4 in 2, and granary in 4. Spearman at Green Twp due in 2.

I turned down science to 0% this turn as I had only 1 gold in the bank - this will save me 14 gold, enough to research the final 5 turns of AH.

Okay - quick update before I head to bed. Diplomacy is going fast and furious. Talked a bit to Broker in game now that we have officially met.

Cincinnati just grew to size 4, and will grow again in 4 turns (granary in 2). One slight problem with my planning - cottages do not take 4 turns, they take 5. So I'll have to revisit that some tomorrow.

First spearman (Frank) rolled off the line in Green Twp.

And, real quick, back on Post #45, I posted a screenshot of the (Very early) demographics screen and Sullla gave me a little tweak (not undeserved of course!)

Although I did mess with the image in Paint, no trickery involved, I really am either #1 or #2 in every (important) category. So I'm feeling good about things. Although the GNP is a little off, since I am Creative (though so is like everyone else) and I am researching a tech at 100% (unsustainable) that I have 2 pre-reqs for.

Still, I'm quite happy!

Tomorrow will be T50 and I will try to get another state of the empire post up as well as recap some diplomacy

Oh I also wanted to add that I was in game when the turn rolled over (from 48 to 49) and as I was checking things out I heard the horns of war and nearly pooped my pants. I was sure that someone was declaring war on me.
