Whosit Clowns Around in EitB PBEM XXVI [SPOILERS!]

Ok, then it's Mining. I'll probably pass on BW for a while. I know Festivals is important, though I'm not sure where to prioritize that. Before Exploration? Thing is, with a focus on pushing Workers, Settler, and Warriors/Defense, I'm not sure when I'll have the infrastructure in place to make use of Carnivals and Freaks. Then again.... Carnivals and Freak shows mean +2 happy (on top of the Gems and Gold I should have). Could do that before religion? How important is it that I get to Runes first? Obviously I can't make the shrine if I don't found it, but I'd still get the religion in EitB, right? Or am I wrong? Do I even really need the religion in this position?

I could do Crafting > Mining > Exploration > Festivals > Whatever.

You get a free acolyte who can spread the religion as if he were a missionary. Regarding not being first to a religion, it depends on what you want from it. The most useful aspects of Kilimorph is the free money from temples and the Mines of Gal-Dur.

The free money is not founder dependant, while the Mines are generally property of who first hits Arete, which is dear to be hitting directly after Way of the Earthmother, but should fall to the religion founder.

The heros are pretty meh, though the first one (forget his name) gets free fix siege units no matter his civ, which is otherwise Luichirp exclusive.

Okay, so:

Worker popped the end of turn. That Warrior has 5/16 hammers, and currently producing 12 (including overflow). What I intend to do, to get the maximum value out of this that I can, is to move the worker on the wheat 1E and finish that farm, and move the new worker onto the wheat and finish THAT farm (both should be 1 turn from completion).

Sadly, it will then be a full turn to get to the first incense, but oh well. With the wheat farm on, I can shift a forest to one of those and still get that Warrior done in one turn. Then another Worker. Then a Settler.... Get some commerce up and I'll probably be ok.

gtAngel is in a lead. Hopefully that's not big enough a lead to worry about. Molach is kinda behind. Eh. Well, rambling, but hopefully this will work out.

Not Luchuirp exclusive, just dwarf exclusive. A dwarf with enchantment 1 gets to fix siege weapons/golems.

My mistake.

First, some relevant diplo:

Quote:Hey Whosit,

I was in a rush yesterday when I got home and tried to play the games that were waiting as quickly as possible. Of course while doing so I forgot to actually take the worker. I will do so this turn and move out afterwards so we can finally have peace. Sorry for that, probably shouldn't have played.

Kind regards,
Serdoa

Basically, I took the chance to do this:

I have been renaming which Worker is "Truce" based on which one I want Serdoa to go for. Part of the reason I sent that e-mail is because I realized he probably can't see Truce now. And I don't want him walking on my wheat farm. If he does move down to the low ground, I have 3 Warriors and the Skeleton, but I figure I'd lose at least 2 Warriors taking out that Archer, so I'm not sure that it's worth it, especially since I know he has at least 3 other units out there somewhere.

Basically, I wanted to get a few more turns of use out of that Worker.

Demos (taken at end of turn):

Actually, can anyone interpret this for me? I think I'm gonna go back to some old saves... but the rival best soldiers isn't much higher than mine. Perhaps Serdoa deleted some of his units once they got out of my vision? I'm gonna check what he had when he cast For the Horde. If his power dropped... wait, graphs.

So... he cast the world spell, probably deleted a bunch of guys right away, and then it looks like he either lost some units or deleted them. That last little bump for me was the last Warrior I made, about 5-6 turns ago. He's lost/deleted at least one unit since then.

Hm. As Perpentach, I AM supposed to hold to any deals I make. I considered stretching things and going meta because I was technically Out-of-Character when I made the deal with Serdoa, but that's a bit iffy. The real issue, though, is if I can afford to gamble that Serdoa actually doesn't have many units near my territory anymore. Would that be worth the lost of 2+ Warriors and saving my Worker? Not sure if that's a risk worth taking, and this could easily come back to bite me, but assuming Serdoa is the Soldier lead, he's not THAT far ahead of me, and surely some of that power must be back in his own territory.

Hm hm hmmmm.....

Brian, any thoughts?

Ok, at first I thought I misspelled the name. I don't think so. Is this just like "Oh, Whosit is on the tear again?" kinda thing? Did I miss something?

I'm confused.

I'd say Serdoa deleted the warriors, and probably because they were costing too much in maintenance. Looking at the graph, the first fall immediately after the spike is probably getting rid of units that popped in a useless location (e.g. on a two tile island), the second fall looks like a warrior, and the final fall is twice as long so probably two more warriors (or maybe an archer as it is 2*power of a warrior).

He's still about a third ahead of you in the power graph.

So depending on the game level, those extra units could really be hurting Serdoa for cash. And given the way the Orcs tech it may actually suit you to let him keep that cash drain than keep the war going.

Personally I'd play this cautiously, based on the fact that you don't really have the muscle to protect the workers and the city together, and Goblin Archers are nasty to kill with only warriors. I'd figure out the quickest way to get a significant advantage before he gets Masonry and work towards that.

Ah sorry, werewolf reference.
Its the color used to vote someone to be lynched, which was humerously being tied to the lurkers desire for blood/used as a chance to comment on reports (a positive, keeps them coming) in a situation when most/all comments would constitute spoiling if made by a global lurker.
Its also used towards serdoa as he is another frequent werewolf player, so I think of him in a WW context mostly.

How much fun does explaining something sap out of it lol
