Ugh that land looks so nice... I guess there is nicer land to our west then. We should have a good idea if we need to look to settle that way before the settler is out though at least. Bronze soon! Let's have some nice news with that.

Logged in and found GJs scout right to our SE. Looks like they might declare for capital visability. We could move our scout to our grass hill to block that, although if they go to the forest west then they will still get capital visibility because of the lake. I assume they will know enough fog gazing and tile visibility to realise this if they want visability, and tbf it is a much lower risk way of getting visibility with their scout. So all in all I don't think we should worry about trying to block their scout, but it should be considered.

Happy with the scout moves? I have moved the worker.

I played the turn, as I thought the scout moves weren't too contentious and I wanted to play some more civ and not do a bum move trying to be clever like I did in my pbem... Bah.

Anyways I moved the scouts like I said I would and saw:




More silver, but no food to go with it.




And gold near GJ.


Next turn shall we move the western scout onto the grasshill NW NW? And the other scout NE NE? I'm excited for next turn re bronze. I want something good to appear now after a lack of resources near us and all the food near GJ so far!

Sorry I didn't respond yesterday, I went straight from class to my friend's house to watch the C1 game. The most accurate description of my initial reaction to the result is OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG. I did not expect that win.

For those who don't understand what I'm saying, I'm French.
For those who still don't understand (looking at you North America) Paris defeated Barcelona in the champion's league last night.

Anyway the tundra silver is sad, I hope there's seafood or deer near that thing so we can make use of it eventually.

Turn rolled, I'm going to (hopefully) take a look at where our copper is.

Well done on your win! I didn't clock what it was at first - why do you call the champions league c1? That is an epic score line. Must have been a really good game. Big party afterwards?

No worries about the lack of posting, I thought the turn would roll overnight and didn't want to hold it for something as trivial as scout moves.

No screenshots? Is it that good that there are so many coppers all over...

This turn deserves a post of its own.

Because I have a bad sense of priorities I didn't start by looking for our copper location (a good idea retroactively, but we'll come back to that later), but by moving Messi NE NW. I thought this was the obvious move, and that's what I saw :

Our free win won't last another turn. The land looks really good, I really think GJ will want to settle these locations early. Especially considering this :

GJ's scout who has been kind enough to avoid our capital. But now that he knows there's no easy way west outside of our borders he'll probably declare war. That's when I realized that WE HAD NO COPPER IN SIGHT !

So I moved Ronaldo :

Our dotmap will probably have to change, although we'll need more info before we can make one. Notice that the current marked city has fish crab river corn and pigs as well as 2 silvers in its BFC. Who's interested in OCCing that thing ?

I picked the wheel and chose the 2/1/0 tile manually, and the worker started chopping for the WB, so everything's fine with our micro. Anyway here's our demos at the end of the turn.

Nothing really interesting there, we're first in production, good in food, someone is landlocked due to the 21k land and what I'm not showing you (you'll have to believe me) is that GJ has half the population that we have in the victory screen so his capital is still size 1. Probably going to move up to size 2 soon but that way we can watch his growth.

Aren't C1 C2 and C3 used in other countries to refer to the champion's league, (former) cup winner's cup and Europa league (former UEFA cup) ? They're used extensively here. The game was epic, considering the recent performance of both teams it was completely unexpected. But no party, I had class this morning. No pb take your time with posting, I'll be around till about midnight (23:00 GMT) and tomorrow morning till noon (11:00 GMT).

During the GJ problem I noticed he also moved a second scout in the east, and took the bear's attack. So we still have our free win, thanks GJ !

Turns are rolling quick here! I crashed out and assumed that I would have chance to talk this morning before another but obviously not!

Never heard of C1/2/3 for the leagues. It always goes by the champions league and Europa league here. Well, when anyone can actually watch any of them. They are usually on pay TV only except the finals, so generally aren't watched by me unless they are weekend games, as it is awkward getting to the pub during weekdays usually. But cracking result to beat Barcelona! I think Bayern will have it this year. Certainly I don't think any of the English squads are currently strong enough, as Man city have a huge away problem they cannot seem to shake. Bayern are just so solid, although Real have a decent chance against them I think.

Now onto the game! No worries on the scout and bear - might as well use a free win on a decent kill! I would have actually gone NENE to uncover more inland than sea, but just to see if I could snag another hut. 2 so far (with one saved admittedly) seems a bit paltry on a HUGE big and small map. Although fog gazing there it looks like the land there is actually a narrow strip only 3 tiles wide. Very strange map.

That copper location is interesting east, they may move to block us in with that plains hill settle. That would be good play by them as there would be no way of shifting them until catapults. Which is even more pressing considering what we see out west - there is no land there?! That is end of the land all around until at least west of the grass hill...

Demos are nice, I think we read from that despite being the only ones to move (I think) we are still one of the first to grow, largely down to getting a quicker worker with exp. Otherwise as the starts seemed so wildly different with some food settle starts and everything I do not think we can read a huge amount into them currently.

Also of note is that Bhuddism landed that turn as well, so it looks like it was a second tech for either whoever went inca, or someone else pushed for it right from the start.
