Has this season been weirder/more astounding than those previous, or do I just not remember? (Exception: Wang Kon's troll game in Season Two[?].)

It's always been totally absurd, it's just we've had a couple of close games lately. There have been no shortages of surprise wins though, either via leader or via victory condition.

Season 2 was at least as preposterous, in other ways; Hatshepsut being a bigger troll than Wang Kon, and the final game drama.

I think it's Season 1 that was relatively unsurprising -- we just didn't know it at the time because this hadn't been done before.

That was a fun game! I caught the livestream towards the end when my guy (Bismarck) had already been eliminated. Once Sullla had explained how the game would most likely end, I thought about turning the stream off, but I am glad I stuck around to catch a quite memorable moment of "Civ4 Survivor" live.

Notwithstanding the ridiculous circumstances (Sullla missed it but I think Samsun and one German city got gifted after the war as well?), that definitely was miraculous comeback by the underdog AI after being trolled by who was unanimously accepted as a front-runner!

The placement actually made a difference as well; KON is now placed in a group with Asoka and Hammurabi who have identical same peace weight. If he placed 2nd, he'd have to had to contend with greater aggression in Hannibal & JC & Louis....

I do think Bismarck will break through and win a game sooner rather than later, but this was not his year.

Besides, after Wang's treatment by Asoka in season 1 game eight, it would make sense for him to turn to trolling everyone.
