The most important thing re airships is scouting. Their damage output is usually not the main reason you build them.

The difficulty is that these grapes are too high to reach; thus, they are sour.

If we dont lose to MC i basically get to play kingmaker. Super fun. Just wish we could at times like these just be able to send a diplo message like " Hey, Why in the Fuck are you invading DZ when MC is about to win? Are you that unsure of your own chances of victory? ( JR4 is the tech leader right now as he has flight ffs ) " (April 11th, 2020, 13:10)JR4 Wrote: If Mr. Cairo`s culture push somehow fails I believe that Superdeath is the slight favourite to win. But we`d definitely get a chance of getting back to contention and we could perhaps be able to form (a shaky) alliance with Wetbandit. But, well, more than ever time works for Mr. Cairo. Let`s put him at 20 turns away from winning (just a guesstimate). (April 13th, 2020, 05:30)JR4 Wrote: I really hope that we can get a few lucky rolls here and get some commandos. With a few more Great Generals we might consider making extremely higly promoted Cavs. If Mr. Cairo is only 15 turns away from winning we might not be in time for that but what can you do? Superdeath still needs to commit first before I`d consider moving our huge Tank-based army in. A bit surprised SD and JR4/Refsteel both think the other is ahead of them.

I love Cairo's analysis. I think he deserves to get the win at this point for understanding the other players and the game mechanics best.

His analysis, especially of superdeath, seems spot on. Right now I think that he will pull this off.
Wetbandit seems clear that whoever goes in first loses his stack and the game, no matter what, and he doesn't seem inclined to do that. JR4 has played the entire game cautiously to a fault, pretty much never making a bold or risky move in over a year of play. I think at this point he's warred or nearly warred with all of his neighbors, but held back from decisively committing at every point. It'd be truly out of character for him to go in first, especially if he thinks he has about 7 more turns than what he truly does. Which leaves superdeath, who MIGHT zerg his entire force into Cairo, opening the way for one of the other players, but instead seems more likely to go and spite one of the other players (I predict JR4) instead. If superdeath, as the only person who knows how little time is truly left, leads the way, then the CV can still be stopped. If superdeath refuses to sacrifice his stack to enable one of the other players to win, then I don't see wetbandit or JR4 falling on that sword either.

A blog about my adventures in Korea, and whatever else I feel like writing about.
Agree that his opponent/situation analysis is great. He called it re: JR4 waiting to freeload and superdeath raging at JR4/wetbandit.

In any case this game should not end in a concession, when a culture victory is less then 10 turns away. It's been ages since a game ended in a proper victory and not a concession.
