RBP3 [SPOILERS] Team Nice Shot - Pacal of Carthage

Sorry for the slow response (I didn't get another chance to check the forums last night). The message looks fine to me.

T42 rolled and played. Things are going exactly to plan, except Warren finished the rice farm this turn, one turn sooner than was in the outline posted on page 15. Our warriors continue on their scouting assignments. Nothing exceptional revealed at this point.

I wonder what is optimal for Warren to do after completing the gold mine: prechop forests at Utica or transfer to the Red Dot city?

Road the gold mine? :neenernee

After that, we have only a couple of turns until pottery come in and we want to be cottaging Utica, so in my plans I had him road down towards Carthage for a couple of turns

Hahaha, the wheel! That's right... smoke

Well when the time comes, you'd best be sure that I'll get that one right!

Weird that Warren completed that farm earlier than expected...not that I'm complaining =) I guess we will complete the mine a turn before we expected. We will probably have a turn or two to burn with warren before the wheel completes then, so I'd say it would make sense to chop the forest 1W of him and then come back to road the gold (we don't desperately need the happiness, so having the road a couple of turns later won't hurt.

I've gone and edited my first post with the up to date micro stuff from page 15.

Above message sent. Also asked if they had seen any human barbarians yet... they had a dip in their power a couple turns which I assume is the loss of a scouting unit. Hopefully we have a few more turns (10?) until human barbs start showing up...

Yeah, hopefully. I don't have a feel for when they start to show up
on emperor. It might be good to see if we can find any info
on civfanatics.

If we don't have horses revealed next turn somewhere in our first three cities, I think we may want to slot in archery after hunting.

Since you are online, would you be comfortable taking a 70.1% lion attack with William? or take the safe route and move him onto a forest... a lion appeared on the "william t43" hill.

In AH news, no horses in our current sites. But there is a horse near one of the "City?" signs I have in the west. Pictures to come.

I'll log in to take a look about William and the horses (kinda hard to picture it in my mind...)

What about just waiting turn with William. I am not sure if he would heal before the lion attacks (I think he would, as the lion will attack *next* turn). That would allow us to get the hill bonus (which should be almost assuredly safe) and then move on the path we had laid out only 1 turn later.

Here was my micro plan that I had gotten done earlier. Remember that it does NOT account for the higher maintenance costs or the teching bonus for knowing the ottomans, so tech times may be a little off. Anyway, I set research to -% this turn.

T43: AH in. Tech set to wheel. Research set to 0%. Bill and Worker 3 complete chop. Warren completes farm. Settler done in 2, Utica to grow in 1.
T44: Tech rate set to 100%. Utica grows to size 2. Works Rice and lake tile. Warren moves 1NE to mine. Bill and Worker 3 move 1E, pasture.
T45: Carthage completes Settler. Build set to Worker. Bill and Worker 3 complete pasture. Settler moves 2E.
T46: Settler moves E-NE. Worker 3 moves E-SE. Bill moves SE-SE, to pasture.
T47: Settler moves E. Worker 3 moves NE-NE.
T48: Hadrumetum founded, build set to Warrior. City set to work plains fur. Worker 3 pastures sheep. Gold mine done. Utica set to work gold mine and lake. Utica build changed to a worker (for 1 turn). Tech rate set to 80%. [I am fandangaling the cities a bit here to get the wheel done in one turn instead of two. Let's check on turn 47 what we need to do to get wheel on time.]
T49: Wheel done. Research set to Pottery. Utica set to work Rice and Gold mine. Utica set to build warrior (should say 2 turns). Hardumetum set to build warrior. Warren roads. Tech rate set to 0%.

I have not ended the turn, by the way.
