PBEM 23 Organizing/Tech Thread

The forum was off and I didn't know the tracker link. I was worried about delaying the game, so I thought there wouldn't be any problem.

Ah, that makes sense. In actuality I think the game's just doomed to stop for a bit if the forum goes down, since often someone has to look at their thread to see what to do.

Last save I received and played was 3340 BC, and I sent it along. So the game is somewhere past that point

Okay, sorry I was away after my last post. It sounds like Luddite and I have the latest version of the save, so I will get that turn played and passed along ASAP.

Edit: Sent the next save via the tracker. Mackoti, if you don't get it let me know and I will email it direct. Sorry again about the delay, but I remember looking at the tracker once and seeing the save with Fierce, and then seeing it another time with novice after that and being complete confused as to how we got skipped.

Heh. Apparently we broke Gmail.

Could not create filter. Forwarding to too many addresses.

Like I said, I haven't been receiving saves from Novice or Spaceman only when Seven sends them. And now Luddite is having issues as well. So I went in and I checked the the Novice to Lewwyn filter and clicked test search. It didn't find any emails matching the criteria. So I went to the Novice to Yuris filter and clicked test search. That time the emails showed up. So I went back to the Novice to Lewwyn filter and copy pasted Novice's email in again and said edit, and got the above msg. Then that filter disappeared. Not sure what exactly is up, but I didn't recreate the filter for fear that I might displace one of the working filters that is much more necessary than my own.

I think having Nospace7 sending to YuriNicLew was just a bit too much for it to bear.

I checked the filter that goes to luddite and that one is showing up test searches so I think it will resume working. And really I think all the saves are forwarding as normal except the ones to me since mine were the last added. Everything else should be working fine and we continue as normal. I'll look into an alternative way to get the save.

Well, we can send them all from one email address if that helps.

Like I said, I'm okay for now. I'm going to see about having Yuris's email forwarding the saves to me. (Which I know works because that's how I'm getting saves in 19). This way I still get saves and we lessen the load on the trackers filters.

I probably won't be playing, just ded-lurking, so if it's too much of a pain I say take me off the tracker.

There is a hard-coded limit of 20 outward filters. If you need more you need to start messing about with mailing lists and other creative ways of save distribution.
