This past turn, I got Speaker over into LP's city near me. He does certainly have a handful of units in there. I suppose I need to get back to making military again soon to make sure I have enough defenses around.
Hopefully I can get to meet the other civs quickly, and then I can bring him back home to infiltrate someone. Probably LP at this point, though he has started finally putting some EPs into me.
Though I still first need to get Alphabet and make a regular Spy before I can steal a tech. So even that's still a long ways off, so there's no rush to infiltrate anyone with the Great Spy.

Yeah, that is pretty much what's next on worker duty. Gonna farm the river-jungle north of the hill mine by Mt Whacko and also farm the river-grass between Hard Knocks & Nothing Hill, so those two cities can share it depending on who needs it at the time.
Pile of Crap will need one of those two grass tiles farmed too, but I'll need to get enough troops over there to cover the worker from LP trying something mean. But that city at least has the Pigs which are a big help to it for the moment.
And then I'll probably farm the grass north of the pond by PoD, since that tile can be shared by both PoD and the new city I'll be making. Or maybe farming the river-grass south of the Corn would be better? Yeah, I think it would. That tile can be shared by 3 cities, and gets the 1 commerce on it. The grass by the lake will probably be better for just a cottage or something.

Does anyone know where I can find an easy to view list of the order in which techs are bulbed by Great Engineers & Great Scientists? I'll get my next GP in about 10-15 turns, and my Hagia Sophia will be done in 5 turns. So there will be a small likelihood of a Great Scientist and a very small likelihood of a Great Engineer. I'm hoping I get one of those, since I really don't have any desire for another Great Spy right now.
But if I get one of the other two, I need to start thinking about what to do with them.
I'm assuming I'll probably have greater benefit of an Academy over using a GS to bulb a tech, but it'd be good to try to figure out what tech would bulb if I get that option. And also what a GE would get me, if by some rare chance I actually get one of those.
EDIT: Disregard. I think I found it: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=140952

CivFanatics war academy is a great resource for learning about the game.

So I finally get my first event/quest of the game.....and it's the one where I have to build 11 F'n Libraries!!!! I don't even have space for 9 cities, let alone 11 cities!!!
I am so screwed in this game. There's just nothing I can do to expand. All these people around seem to be building cities galor, and I'm pretty much at my limits.
Anyway, now to go back in time a ways for the other screenshots that I haven't gotten around to posting:
First up, the progression of Speaker through LP's lands. Man, this guy is SO gonna win this game:
This was from when I built the Hagia Sophia:
Here you can see where I finally settled that new city, and right after I got Meditation I cranked out a couple Monasteries. That has since helped my GNP some, finally:
I've since gotten Fishing & Sailing, and right now decided to work on Construction. Still have no real good plan for Tech path. After all, I really don't know how I'm going to survive in this game with no room for expansion. I think shortly I need to just start working on military again and then either see if I can harass plako or maybe even head north to Comoxenu. Though if I head north, I can guarantee plako will attack me from the east. I don't think plako has gotten Construction yet, so if I can get it sometime in the next 8 turns (I think that's how long it'll take, since my economy just sucks) then I can try to make a bunch of catapults. That's my only chance to do anything to him. But I'm sure it'll be too little, too late, since his production capabilities are like double mine. And he's already way ahead in power, plus he already has HBR for those horse archers. I'll either have to get that after Construction, or maybe go for Pikemen. But that'll take longer.

Why is one of the grassland gems not being worked in the picture?

That was one of the old pictures from the past. It's being worked now. It may have even gotten worked that turn, after the screen shot. I don't recall exactly. The city for awhile had gotten whipped so low that while trying to regrow it quickly there was a turn here or there that a Gem didn't get worked so that I could get it to grow faster. But they've all been getting worked for awhile now, ever since it got back to size 4.

I'll do a state of my own nation later, but for now we'll just show off what Speaker has been doing the last few turns. He's left LP and moved into Azza territory. He's gonna head due west and see who he finds that way.
First we see a stack that LP has near Azza's cities:
Then Azza's cities themselves:
That's about it for now. I've built up a little cash to work on Construction. I'll start actually teching that next turn. It'll take me 4 turns to get it. I'm hoping I can go 3 turns at 100% tech rate, and then get it in the 4th turn at whatever tech rate my remaining cash allows me.
After that, I plan to build some military again. I want to get out a handful of Catapults, a few more Axes and Spears and Archers. Basically my defense isn't good enough for how quickly plako and others have gone up in Power.

And here is the promised additional update on my own empire, as small as it is.
First, the lay of the land:
I've realized that I really did screw up bigtime when I started settling cities. Obviously everyone else has been putting most of their cities a mere 3 tiles apart. That's not something I'm used to, and it's hurt me big. I only have 7 cities, and that's all I have room for. I could theoretically stick one up in the desert to the north where it would be battling LP & ComoXenu borders. And I will be trying to put one on that island to my SW. But those will both be crap cities. Everyone is just RAPIDLY outpacing me and there's not really much of anything I can do about it.
Tech plan. As already stated I'm getting Construction next. I think I should go straight for Literature after that (which means Aesthetics first) so that I can build Heroic Epic & National Epic.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm thinking the best places will be National Epic in my capital (since it already has two World Wonders) and Heroic Epic in Mt Whacko. Although that city doesn't have the best production right now, I believe it has the most potential because of all those grass hills around it which can't even be shared. PoD has the 3 plain/hills mines, but the Iron hill will pretty much always be used by I Is Idiot at this point.
Here's my Tech Tree for those that are interested:
Next turn, when I turn research back on, I'll take on of the Demographics.
Also in 4 turns I get my next great person. I'm hoping for a Great Scientist, but even if I get it, I'm still not sure what would be best for me to do with it. I don't think I have any particularly good bulb opportunities. I think it'd end up bulbing me Alphabet, so I'd either have to research that first manually to bulb something else or use the GS for an Academy.
I'm leaning towards the Academy, which I think would be good down in Dragon's Mouth. That city could then always work all 3 Gems and I can make some more cottages down there then too. Thoughts on that if I get a GS?
