No worries, I didn't do well to present it convincingly. Lacking time & computer access did real harm to my credibility, so it was no surprise I'd be seen suspicious.

Novice scan threw my game around pretty badly though smile. Never really considered SK being in the game, though in hindsight there almost had to be one. Pretty bad luck for town that it wasn't apparent until last day.

Depressing to realize scum had strongman after all.

The intention of the rule was to make it impossible to clear oneself by using communication with the GM. With the way Gaz spoke it was absolutely clear he was cop and he got those results. Scum if they wanted had no chance to challenge that in anyway.

I could have said "Short before the game started BTW the GM asked me if I would prefer to play Hider or tracker instead of PGO" and used that to meta-imply that I'm town already. How would you have looked at that?

Alternately I could have as easily used: "Where I scum I would have left the game after Gazglum Mod-use"
Both would be true-statements and both would be a cheating way to clear myself.

What's stopping scum from using any of those? Nothing.. So how does it clear anyone if both alignments can do it?

GG scum. Very well-played. Dp101,you had an amazing comeback thanks to the effort you put in on Days 2 and 3. And Lewwyn, somehow you managed to fly under the radar the whole game (aside from my initial suspicions of you, and a few others remarking here and there). Funny that your jabbing at Dp101 about "scumhunting in earnest" ended up meaning nothing at all, and yet I took it as an inadvertently correct lead anyways.

Lu - win. At least that's how I do it. It's made up so I guess I can say it however I like. lol

Theater, my friend!

Actually in my mind it served the purpose of helping DP's cover. DP's posts were kind of noobie scum and someone was going to attack him. If I did it convincingly and a bit harshly then I could get him to respond a bit more townie and he wouldn't have to face a more determined attack from someone else. If I came off a bit scummy, that was actually a good thing because I could handle the pressure better than DP. And that really early harsh interaction helped pseudo distance us in case one of us ended up lynched. I thought it was a back and forth that people would remember and set a first impression of how people would view the two of us.

I had a lot of time during Day 1 and it really played out exactly as I hoped, I felt like I'd convinced some major townies of my townieness but left enough doubt that I wouldn't be a likely nightkill target. Apparently I even got Zak thumbsup

But it was a really fun game in part I think because it felt like pretty slim odds there for a while at the end of day 2 start of Day 3. And in part because I got to play the wise old vet who gets to teach young pups. lol

You got town points for attacking dp who was scummy. So yeah, that worked like a charm. smile
If you know what I mean.

You can of course play as dirty as you like and use any trick you want. I still think it is better to no to do it. nd I still thiknk this is cheating. You can read all the meta-tricks that have been tried to use in various games. Usually by villagers to clear themselves. It is not funny to play with those on the table.
There is also a lne that should not be crossed like claiming little time or personal problems as excuses for not participating much. There is no law against it but using it simply makes it impossible to believe someone for whom it is true which doesn't do the game any good.
IMO it makes a better game if we refrain from some tricks despite them being officially allowed.

The problem though Rowain, is that there were other things to consider as well. If I modkilled him, it instantly cleared fenn, and gave town trustworthiness to every one of his posts. There were zero good choices at that point in time, so I took the one that did the least amount of damage to the game. Anyone can lie about their roles, and come up with whatever reasons they want for it. You are still stuck deciding whether or not that was a lie. The moment the GM steps in either way, it gives shitloads of info out with zero question about its veracity.THAT is game breaking.

dito This is why running a WW game is always a major test of patience.

So why am I planning out another game setup again? crazyeye
