EXP is always good. .
CHA. There are no luxury resources in sight. But this is a green's game, so the mapmakers will probably give everyone a few luxuries. What was it like in Pitboss 72? That would make CHA weaker. But if there really are not many luxuries, then CHA would be strong. I do not know. It is a fine option.
SPI. Good to not pick it if you do not want early religion.
Others? You could always choose good old FIN. If you are convinced to pick a civ other than Mali, then you could pick a trait that is good with that civ.
PB72 had luxuries be rather unevenly distributed. I can comment publicly on the map philosophy for this game if you would like.

Roads are pretty marginal value in feeding the snowball early on. It's not like BronzeWorking is a wasted tech to delay, you're probably better off taking mining and going for it early.

A pasture is slightly better, but is it worth delaying BronzeWorking by 10-15 turns?

Thank you. It's late. I already picked Agriculture+Fishing. That appreciation of you is really interesting. Probably I am too obsessed with the roads, and afraid of not having work for the Workers. I was thinking in this research seq : AH - Wheel - Mine - BW. Migh I pospone the Wheel for after BW?

Let's talk about traits. Now the picture is:
Coldrain: Lincoln (PHI/CHA) of ??? (on Deck)
Giraflorens: ??? of Dutch (Netherlands) (op)
xist10: Wang Kong (PRO/FIN) of Carthage
Miro: Lieu-Ye (ORG/PRO) of China
ricketyclik: Shaka (EXP/AGG) of Rome
Nobody choose IND neither CREATIVE. Magic suggest FIN+EXP. I think this is a good election, there are plenty of tiles for villages and the coast can yield a good commerce at the beginning. Or might be FIN+CREATiVE, and we forget about the Monuments?
I finally picked Pacal (FIN/EXP). In the next days I will post some alternaives for the 30 first turns.

Of course ricketyclik would pick Shaka of Rome with Superdeath advising him.
And we cannot go wrong with Pacal.

And we cannot go wrong with Pacal. Hahahaha.... I beg to the Gods not being near them. I'm already seeing Pretorians!

Would you like me to make a simulation/sandbox to help with planning?
The first question to answer is what technology to research first. Animal Husbandry or Mining?
EDIT: Yes, probably postpone The Wheel until after Bronze Working.

Yes, please.
I've being doing some calculations, but not finished yet. I like AH for revieling Horses and city planing. But then BW is very delayed. Also I was doubting btw Worker vs Boat as initial. Boat will give 2 coins!
Later on I will comemt my calculations and we can compare with yours

I will post the simulation in about 12 hours, after work.
I am in Alaska, by the way. You are in Spain, right?
