Damn, did you play on Immortal? Or Noble? That was a fast controlled game! And how did it take Alex so long to attack you? Maybe I don't build enough military to scare off the AI...

Great game and actually quite similar to mine, but also with some very big differences. We both managed to get ALex to give us large sums of gold after the initial war, which was, for me at least, very helpful.

I didn't go after the Great Lighthouse, though, because I knew that lucrative foreign trade routes wouldn't exist in this game, so it seemed to me the usefulness of the wonder was diminished on this game. Looking back, did you feel the Lighthouse was very helpful?

You know what? It might not have been. When I smoke, I smoke good!! 2Gpt per city at the end (when I didn't need it)? I sure didn't figure that one out.

I've said it before...I have a knack for the long term strategy, but always always the details let me down. rolleye

You know what DID work out well, though? Building the GL in Thebes ended up ensuring a free great merchant (rather than if I built the pyramids), and a currency pop. So it wasn't so bad, even if it was unintentional.
