Heh. Millenium Battle ate my rig as well. It was like playing in an old Keystone Cops silent movie
. Of course, I'm running at 1600 x 1200 on an outdated PC, so I'm hoping I'll be able to lower the rez and play co-op, once/if they ever get it sorted out (I tried to use the chat tonight, and, well, I think they've been keeping some of the devs in a closet since Diablo if they think that is a workable chat system...).
Count me in with the phase grenade haters. The frag is a hoot with its funky bouncing and great for playing around with (especially around corners/stairs) and actually useful for pulling at times. The Napalm is pretty funny (except for the audio--I'm still trying to figure out why it has audio in it), and I actually can use it in mid-panic by dropping it at my feet when I screw up and get swarmed. My MM is all grenade/strike/rocket launcher and AoE weapons, and, though it works, it can be pretty slow going at times, and you really have to mind what is up with some mob mixes (though she is only in her teens). Doing it naked is going to be *really* slow with some mob mixes and situations. I'm thinking especially about times where you don't have much room to work with and also about times where you get flying electric attack mobs overlaying ground mobs. I had some issues in Chocolate Park with her and that boss, as well as in some normal city street map with electric orbs over anklebiters. If I set it up right, it was no problem--I could two-shot the flyers and own the anklebiters--but man, if I screwed up and got both on me at once it was Escape, sprint, and punch the health button time. I still like the character, but there are already some zones that take a looong time due to the very minor restraints I have on her--and she is still only a teenager
. I'm definately running her to try out different things and find a restricted build that isn't stupid.
My third char will be a run n gun MM that I play like UT2K4. This will be another test run for a possible speed demon restricted build (max sprint, max rate of fire without a lockdown stance) to see what works and what doesn't.
In the meantime, my Evoker is ripping right through. I'm used to mages taking some time to develop, but, compared to my MM, she is Uber. I could take my teenage MM with my clvl 7 Evoker in PvP, and I think the Evoker would even be dangerous without using any spells. It is certainly a strong-starting class.
