@TMIT & lurkers ... sure, I have TMIT looking over my shoulder ... but is that a good thing or a bad thing? I'm after a religion, not for happy, but for gold income. This is a huge map and if I can get a jump on a religion and get it spreading AND get a GP ... then I will have a very valuable income stream.
I have to go warrior first with this set up, so I think I have time to get the worker techs after my warrior is finished. Risky - sure but I think it will pay for itself in the mid-term.
I just have to work out how to get some GPriest points ... a wonder (StoneHenge) or a temple (needs Priesthood).
Maya aren't going for the religion ... they will be going worker first. Also, this is a Sullla map so expect every capital to have grassland grain, plains sheep and silver on jungle ... these three tiles are a total lock! There won't be an oasis or calendar resource (famous last words? ).
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

Joao / Inca / athlete et al (Myst / Agric)
Ragnar / Maya / Refsteel et al (Myst / Mining)
Bismarck / India / Sunrise et al (Myst / Mining)
Hannibal / Byzantine / SleepingMoogle et al (Myst / Wheel)
Mehmed II / HRE / Dazed Loyalty (Myst / Hunting)
Peter / Korea / Lobo (Myst / Mining)
Dang - from civstats, I can see that all of the above settled their first city on the first turn. Rats, I was hoping that one of the other 6 civs starting with mysticism would have moved their initial settler.

Well, ok. If you want the shrine income badly that's understandable. We'll just have to see if you get it.
Do you lose a turn of research by working the corn to grow to 2 sooner? Ultimately you don't want to delay hooking up your specials more than you have to.
We'll just have to see if having me looking over your shoulder is good or bad . At least we probably won't see a 8 city in one turn naval razing spree! I feel bad for leaving you out of that .

Good point ... if the first turn is still active when I get home I will check and change if it makes sense. Either way, I will check next turn.

Was it 8 cities in 1 turn? TBH, the first thing I did when I started to see the 'captured city' icons was zoom over my territory to see if I was one of the victims .

I wanted to get you back for that dead caravel but the logistics to you were longer and that kind of thing fails or at least is nerfed severely if it's noticed. I was hoping maki would have had at least a little something from that side but oh well.

Turn 2 played.
TMIT suggested that I work a 3f tile to grow, then work 2 1c tiles to speed up my religion. Doing that nets 153b in 12 turns. Just sticking with the current 2f, 1h, 1c tile nets 157b in 12 turns ... so it doesn't speed it up and it costs me 4b ... and if the coin flip goes to the civ with the most beakers invested ... arg!

I suggested that because of the faster growth, not commerce.
I don't think anything matters in a MP simultaneous tie other than the turn you got the tech.

DanQ disagrees with you. The general consensus here at RB is that if two or more teams land a race thing (wonder, tech with goodie / religion, GP) then it is a total coin flip who gets it.
Dan's thinking is that it goes to the person who has invested the most hammers / beakers. If there is a tie in that category, then I would assume a coin flip. I need to question him to see if he has any evidence (testing, code review, other).

Here is a question for the lurkers ... what if I spend time and effort and discover that wonders and tech races go to the civ that has invested the most hammers / beakers instead of what is commonly accepted here (its a coin flip). Obviously, this is a pure game mechanic ... but is it something that should be shared with the other players in pitboss #3? Should it be shared at all on Realms Beyond - a #3 player could be a lurker on #1 or #2?
And support your opinion because I am thinking of adding a clause to my LCoC regarding this.

And support your opinion because I am thinking of adding a clause to my LCoC regarding this. I'm kinda stunned that this issue hasn't been addressed yet considering that this is not the first Pitboss ever played. Anyway, I think it would be fair to all players to let them know how this specific game mechanic works... but then again, this should have been done before the actual game to avoid spoilers. So I'm basically undecided
