TT and Kyan added.
Nakor & Kyan vote Vicky.
Tatan votes Zara.
TT votes Ghandi.
I've played with Ghandi and Carthage before.
I've played with India before.
I haven't played with any of the rest.
Damn, those are some good starts now that I look at them closely. I didn't actually pay any attention to the starts themselves, only which leaders popped up. All of them are kind of overpowered. Vicky is probably the most overpowered of the starts.
If I were choosing this to win, I think I would go with Ghandi (love him, because I am GP crazy), or Vicky.
But I've never played with Zara or Germany or Sury or Greece before, those two appeal to me most. But I can defer to everyone. I don't really care.
I think we'll go 20-15-10-10-10 this time around, since we have more turn players involved. I started us off last time, so if Tatan or Nakor want to take the initial turns this time, I defer to you two. Or I can knock them out whenever we decide on a Civ.
If we win, hopefully everyone will stick around to try Immortal. And then we might actually need the horseshoe to do its magic.

Hmm, i think i misinterpreted the intention for this PBEM. I signed up as i figured it would be fun to play with friends but if it's intended to be a challenge, maybe i shouldn't. I can comfortably play on immortal now. (Thanks to the excellent reports and help found on this forum I was on noble when i started reading here )

I've beaten Immortal before, and usually win on Emperor, but I don't have a lot of overall experience, so this is more instructive for me than anything. I personally love to have someone of a higher skill level than me giving their input. Not sure what everyone else thinks?
So I would vote to keep you around.

I know what you mean. Somewhere in the Reports thread is my Adventure 45 report. In my fifth (?) game of Civ ever (and first ever on BTS), I managed to pull a culture victory on Immortal, just because I had read every single report Sulla, T-Hawk, and Kylearan had on their websites. As I've said a few times, I've still only played maybe 12-15 full games ever. I honestly like reading about and discussing Civ as much as I like playing it. If I have spent 250 hours playing, I've spent twice that reading their reports and this forum.

I'd want him around as he's a good player. I'm the weakest of the players here, so I will be learning a lot from this!

Wow, that was quite an impressive list ! My only claim to fame along that line was hitting four straight half court shots (with witnesses) when I was in high school... Some people have the craziest luck, and apparently you are definitely one of them.

The really crazy thing about the half court shot thing:
They had said they were going to pick someone out to shoot for the money from the crowd at the game that night. So I went to the gym before the game to practice shooting half court shots, and my friends were like, "Dude, why are you practicing? There is going to be like a thousand people there." And I proceeded to ensure that them that I would get picked. To this day they still think I rigged the lottery drawing.

I once won five dollars in the lottery. Yet, when I type that, it fails to stack up to GES's monumental list. Oh well.
So, I guess by a 2-1-1 vote margin, the Vicky start wins, unless GES wants to cast a vote. If we're going by the roster order at the beginning, that means: hurry up, Gold and Nakor, I'm waiting!
Played in: PBEM 4 [Formerly Jowy's Peter of Egypt] | PBEM 10 [Napoleon of the Dutch] | PBEM 11 [Shaka of France] | EitB XVI [Valledia of the Amurites] | PB7 [Darius of Rome] | Diplomacy 3 [Austria-Hungary] | PBEMm/o vs AutomatedTeller

Well, honestly, I am more interested in playing on an interesting map script than I am on which start we play with. I would prefer not to be on a Pangaea. If Novice or one of the other lurkers wants to check out the four saves in Worldbuilder and let me know which map looks most interesting, I could totally go with choosing that way too.
As for the order, I have no problem letting Nakor and Tatan go first since I started out playing on SG2. That is up to those guys. So if you want to start us out Tatan (or Nakor), speak now, or forever hold your peace.

I'm ok with you starting, GES.
Kyan, I'd like you to play as well, I'm looking forward to learning a bit more about playing on Emperor.

Never heard back from Tatan yet about going first, so I assume he wants me to go first again.
If no one is willing to look at all the saves in WB if I post them and let me know which looks like the most interesting map, my vote would've been for the Sury start. Which will leave it 2-1-1-1, and the Vicky start would win.
Anybody in opposition to the Vicky start? You know, out of pity for the AI. Not that it really matters, they are all absurd:
Zara has freshwater corn, cows, 8 river tiles, and elephants. Some local AI would get stomped.
Sury has freshwater corn, rice, wine, spices, and tons of green.
Ghandi has freshwater rice, corn, hill pigs, tons of green, and effectively every tile is a river tile. Tons of forests. Jesus that is broken. I might have to run an OCC on that map. You could use the Phil trait to turn that capital in a GP farm and churn out an absurd number of GP, plus all the forest preserves you could put up with the National Park. Is there a way for me to play that map with the difficulty changed to Deity?
Vicky is financial with TWO gem mines, fresh water corn, another corn, and tons of green and forests.
So they are all broken I suppose.
Again, anyone want to argue against Vicky before I play the opening turns tonight or tomorrow?
