I'm going to lurk, but I participated in the map thread (for the record, none of my suggestions were used) so I won't be able to give you any real opinions.
Mostly I'm just hoping you don't do especially better with DMOC than with me, because I might start to get a complex.
(Kidding aside, I hope you guys win.)

Set reseach to AH, but I think we can and should go Religion afterwards before Mining - BW, just for the happy and the fun.

This game is on quick speed, so I better get used to the faster pace ...
AH ... afterwards, we can do a religion. Then we must do Mining - BW because those techs are simply too important to ignore.
Also, I took calculus a while ago. We're going to have to think of harder math topics for the next few cities.

We're third in land area, but that's only because of us settling a turn late. Sleepingmogle has a capital with 7 land tiles and 2 water (without border pop), and someone else has a 16 land areas, 5 water and the last person has 14 land, 7 water. I am not sure which one is mackoti or lewwyn. It is likely that everyone else is coastal except us. (Hence, don't expect us to build the Great Lighthouse!)
Hammers: 3 teams have 2 (including us), one has 3.
Food: 1 team with 5, 1 team with 3, we have 5, and the fourth team has either 3, 4, or 5.
As for GNP, note that Kublai Khan (mackoti) has 2 more GDP due to being creative. Oddly enough, though, we are all tied up at 18.
Soldiers: 1 population (0 soldiers) + 1 scout (0 soldiers) + Hunting technology (2000 soldiers) = 2000 soldiers for us. Since all other teams must have 1 population now,
Other teams:
Team A: 6000
Team B: 4000
Team C: 4000
From this analysis, mackoti (Kublai Khan) is team A, and the other two teams are both B and C. (The Wheel = 4000 soldiers). Ethiopia gets 4000 from 2 techs worth 2000 power, and China has 4000 but from 1 tech worth 2000 power and a warrior worth 2000 power.
Keep an eye on any score increases. Everyone is tied at 33, as expected. I would be interested to know when teams increase in power and if it's because of soldier, or tech.
Life expectancy and approval rate are fairly irrelevant at this point, we want to wait until later to see how close everyone is to happy/health caps.

I would move the scout 1se 1sw if that body of water is freshwater, (i.e. a lake).
I am guessing that Kublai Khan (mackoti) got Fishing due to coastal start.

Will do so. I'm reconsidering going for a religion before Mining - BW. We could easily pick one after since others will most likely not tech Myst soon (with the exception of Ethiopia maybe).
Our workers can do a lot more once BW is in. Do you think we should build/chop Stonehenge for easy border pops?
