Fall From Heaven VII Map Thread (Help Needed!)

Another nation with no changes.

After the Sheaim got moved from boxing them in there didn't seem to be anything to do. I know they probably Need "something" But what? An extra food resource? More Calender stuff?

They have two military resources in copper and iron so they don't need that.

Overall:
Good start. Lots of Rivers add Commerce while the abundance of trees help the Lore start and Elvish economy. They do need something though...

Needs:
They need some barbarians added and an extra resource for balance. It's picking the resource and the spawn improvement that is making me hesitate untill I get feedback.

EDIT: There is actually FOUR barb spawning points to the west. I'm thinking i just move one closer and one over to the "no barbs here" Elohim. The Resource i'm ponderings is a Gold as the Elves don't normally go for mining early and i think ALL the golds were places together at the Elohim. So the map probably needs more.

The Grigori Start is similar to the Balseraph start. They have Jungle impeding passage to the west and floodplains to the east.

I didn't want to do much as they seem to have a lot of stuff allready. So i slightly moved the Settler and added in a CORN. It's only now that i realise the DYE resource has jungle on it making it impossible to use early game.

Overall:
Seems to have good expansion potential but bad initial power... similar to the Balseraphs.

Has the military copper to the south but no horses i believe there is some past the jungle in the west.

Needs:
The DYE jungle removing?
Perhaps a Unique Feature putting in for flavour and a bit of a starting boost?
It has TWO barbarian spawn points nearby... Is this okay?

What the hell can you add to this? If anything this is another start they may need stuff taking away!

It has a very good capital start and very good resources in it's natural expansion area!

Overall:
Has good food, production and commerce resources
It also has military copper in the north
The only negative is the THREE barbarian spawning points

Needs:
Nerfing?
Perhaps expand the desert in the south right up to their starting spot?
They do have a lot of barbarians to balance out the good start. If the start is nerfed should some of the barbs be nerfed?
What unique Feature should be left for lore buffing? I forget if anything corresponds to the horse lovers.

EDIT: Actually having relooked at everything i'm thinking as long as i remove some of the silks in the west and push the desert from the south right close to the borders this start would be OK... maybe.

The Elohim may need some commerce so i could move the silk to them?

Here is the nest zip file of the Possible Map#1 Worldbuilder file:

Changes done:
Modified the starting locations for balanced resources
Modified the landmass
  • Eastern part of landmass now has land bridge
  • South-West area disconnected into an island for balancing purposes

Changes to do:
Modify Barbarian Spawns in some areas
Move around the Unique Features
Add in the Red-Dragon?

Needs:
Feedback on everything.
Including whether i've messed things up so people can't play the save file. Yes i'm that clueless

I THINK this is needed for balance and it can allways be changed back if not.
The plan is to simple add in some land so that this all connects up. It doesn't need to be anything fancy.

Now both the southern nations of Balseraphs and Sheaim have another way to expand and access to aditional resources.

The landmass looks allright. I added in similar resources and land areas like those around where I was editing.

I also added a hut, dungeon and Lizardman spawn point for exploration and fluff.

This Area looks too big to my own eyes. The Grigori start near the inland lake and have unlimited expansion potential here. At least compared to others. It was my reckoning that the southern part of this landmass be cut off into a island. Then it's still potential land but it could also be grabbed by someone else if they get to sailing first.

The screenshots should now let everyone see how the Map#1 looks and has been edited.

It still has minor needs like moving around the features, barbs and confirmation on what to do with the Red Dragon.

But at the moment it could be playable. So i'm just going to call it a day and hope someone provides feedback both for final editing and also for my own peace of mind that i'm not doing everything wrong.
