Does anyone know if it's actually possible to vassalise Basium? I've had issues in SP before where it wouldn't matter how far ahead I was, he would never actually give in. Not sure if it's hardcoded or a relic of him having a huge power boost from the palace or being on a team (which may not apply here?) or what.

Yes, it is; I just tested it:

I suspect that civilizations that are part of teams (i.e. the Mercurians 99% of the time) are unable to vassalize, which is why it seems that Basium is never willing to; however, no worries, he's on his own this game.

I have no idea what is causing that. You are on patch O with the PZ fix, correct?

Are you on a mac? It doesn't seem like that would cause problems, but theoretically it might. I honestly don't know what else could be the issue. I'm playing a shadow game myself from the same save, and no one else has posted about it, so I assume the save itself is fine. Perhaps it didn't download or unzip correctly.

Just to clarify:

The Emerald Star is 1 of each unit class, not each unit type?

So I can have Valen Jr. the Uber assassin, but I can't promote another Adventurer to Ricky the Ranger and still keep the Star?

Given my lack of Adventurers so far, keeping the Emerald Star is going to be a given.
