Ah, thanks. First new bit for me!
Just to confirm, that is normal speed? So a Quick chop is 13 hammers before Math, 20 after?
Yup.

Settled in place; couldn't see anything better, certainly.
Chatted with Commodore a bit, which pointed out to me - the things that are going to bite me are the things that FFH only changed a little. Obviously I'm not going to try for Aristocracy - he had to remind me that T0 scout build is only a thing if you've a Hunting start, though. Not that it's likely worth delaying the pigs for a gamble at huts, but it's not even an option.
He also gave me a good naming scheme. Some of you may recognize it already; if not, well...I am Imperialistic. You'll have more data points soon.

Dry, dry, dry...but dem hammers!
A spot to share mines might be on the useless desert tile 1W of the wheat.

So, do these techs do the same things they do in FFH? Wheel enables roads? What does Pottery do?

A spot to share mines might be on the useless desert tile 1W of the wheat. Tentatively makes sense. It's coastal, too, so potentially a good spot for a NotCompensatingForAnything statue.

AH enables Pastures, Wheel roads, Pottery is Granaries and cottages. And remember, BtS granaries are fully 50% of food box.
Oh, and bronze enables chopping, Slavery, and of course reveals the metal.

A little bit of scouting, nothing exciting yet. But at least the turn came in the morning, so there's a chance of seeing it again today.

Did at least get the second turn today. Maybe the pace will pick up from here.
Scouting only told us that there's still no seafood. Starting to be less enthusiastic about Commodore's wheat/mine suggestion, but it's not like I've found anything better.

If you find food 1S of the warrior, that's a good spot. *shrug* Script roll, expect crap terrain.

Have you considered going into the prophecy business?
Not just a good spot - a good spot that requires no additional techs! Well, aside from some form of culture.
And Fishing/Sailing eventually, to work coast tiles. But without seafood, that isn't urgent.
Yeah, my gut says this is going to be the city of Durkon. Although I'm considering the site where the warrior is standing as a possible alternative. Probably weaker in the long run what with more coast, desert tile not redeemed - but a plains hill city center and grass sheep in first ring means it would get launched a lot faster.
Although, the silver lining of Normal speed is that we ought to get extra scouting info compared to a quick game; maybe there's something better out there. The bar just got raised, but it's possible.
How long exactly can I wait to choose my tech? Would like the borders to pop onto the hut first, but I'd hate to lose those first five turns of research.
Anyway, turn passed, here's hoping the other three are near a civ computer today and we can get our workers built!

Will the city of Durkon have contingency plans for dealing with incursions from the nearby forests?
