I agree entirely with HidingKneel here.
Personally I would go with giving the next (presumably non-summonor) leader, but I don't particularly mind if they wish to repick.
It seems the Vollanna issue is cropping up again. Considering that the consensus was unbanned before we started this, I don't think it is necessary to change that now.
(For the record, I have not voted.)

6 votes seems weird yea...
After re-thinking the situation I agree with HK. These games last long and as it seems Summoner will be pretty damn overpowered if it gives +4 beakers per city. It would be a shame to waste months to only notice that either (or both) Summoner leader has superior tech lead compared to others. So restart is probably the way to go. I'm happy with my pick though (even tho I heard it sucks for v10, dunno). I think giving Yell0w and HK their next picks could be the best solution.
Also, would be shame to drop the map in a recycle bin after all the work and effort Lord Parkin has put into this map. So we probably should use the same map. Only issue is that the starting spots are now known by players (and also the surrounding area that each players have scouted). I suggest that Yell0w and HK get their next picks (no Summoner leaders) and other players try to play their early turns the same way they did before restart (settling on same spots, etc.). Would this be fair?

Changing my vote to restart, since that's what Q wants. Sounds like we might have a consensus?

ok i agree with restart getting the second non summoner pick, and apply the fix.
If any1 wants volanna banned, i could go with my second pick too.
ok so i think we are all in the same page. yellow auror, q, bob and me want to restart.
Now as parkin noted, the idea was that we dont pick the civ before we know the starting point, so the idea of the second or third non summoner pick is a good one.
are we settled?
plz any1 wants Volanna banned, talk asap plz, so we can get the restart going.

I'm certainly happy to go with my previous picks, with Summoners eliminated. Actually happier than with Keelyn, since I'm already playing the Balseraphs in 34 and would prefer something different.
As for Autorarcher's suggestion, I'd prefer not to have to try reproduce (or remember) previous moves: the early game's dull enough already without having to wait a week to learn something new about the map. Let's just accept that we're all starting with a little bit of extra map knowledge and roll with it.
And I agree that the map should not be abandoned... the starting position looks very fun, though I will now have to think harder where to get commerce without my +omg free beakers .

We could do this one of two ways: either we could all repick (to be fair, since we've all seen the map now), or Lord Parkin could simply give Yell0w and myself whatever was next on our list after the Summoner leaders (that way, everyone would have made their picks without map knowledge).
I haven't thought of that, I would be fine with getting the next leader in my list (even though right now I don't remember which leader that would be) and restarting the game. I still think that Volanna is a really great pick with this starting position, but Kredom didn't know that, and I'm totally fine with letting him keep her.
So restart it is, since the SUM "fix" won't matter, we don't need to implement it, making it easy.
I've got to look up my picks again.

Well, there is one way that implementing the Summoner fix might matter: Hyborem is a Summoner, so he'll be stronger than usual if we don't patch him. But I think it's both very unlikely to matter and that Hyborem needs a boost anyway, so I'm in favor of not patching.
I agree with Yell0w on Volanna. I was in favor of banning her, and I guess I'd still be in favor of that, but if the consensus is against it I'm happy to go with that.

I also have to say this, and I hope I'm not stepping on any toes here:
Kredom isn't the most experienced player of the bunch, so I'm fine with him having Volanna more than I would be fine with HK having Volanna

Remember to all edit your v10.1 files as follows:
Quote:Open this file:
http://1drv.ms/VNC4lE
And search for "Summoner". Beneath there should be a series of rows which affect what the trait does. Fins the one that goes something like [Commercechange]4[/Commercechange] (terminology is wrong, but you'll know it when you see it) amid a bunch of other [Commercechange]0[/Commercechange] and change the 4 to a zero.
On my computer this file is located at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Erebus in the Balance v10.1\Assets\XML\Civilizations\CIV4TraitInfos.xml
Ctrl-F and search for "Summoner".
Scroll down a little and change the following line:
<iCommerce>4</iCommerce>
To:
<iCommerce>0</iCommerce>
This is just a textual change - Summoner will give +0 beakers/city regardless of whether you update this or not, but if you don't update the civilopedia will incorrectly say "+4 beakers/city".
