Are visible from start, non-BFC tiles real, or tbd?

In the sim, no. Just the BFC.

Only the BFC is real:
Feeling bleh about it, bad match with my start techs, which at least matters less in this version of the mod. I need fishing, hunting, and AH to use the early BFC resources, none of which I have. Might delay AH a while, after bronze // maybe oracle, depends on how these new tech costs play out, will need to fiddle.
River is nice though, good # of grassland, good # of forests. Overall, a mediocre starting bfc, but really only matters how good it is relative to the field.

So WB->Warrior EDIT: Worker, oops (and associated fishing->hunting) is better, lose 3 worker turns and some hammers to gain a good bit of food and commerce. Besides that gonna wait to see the surrounding terrain before really deciding on techs after those two. AH, Pottery, and Mining->BW are all plausible.

Hello, based on recommendation of the lurkers, your ivory has been upgraded to be first ring, moved to the tile 1SE of your settler.

2nd from the top, excellent. Though first order of business: punish the Dutch for their arrogance
Do not remember this screen from earlier pitbosses. That just memory loss on my part?
Founded and scouted, so far pretty good. Gems = good teching, important for likely Oracle rush, gems/cows can be acquired while sharing capital cow, though plains cow is a pretty meh food resource. If there are more floodplains down south though it should be workable. Certainly a very good city site, maybe not enough food for ideal 2nd city snowball.
Named capital "Elohim". Think I'll name them all after creator gods (Elohim I guess not precisely a name but certainly a form of address, so w/e)

Preliminary sim results
if I go WB->Worker->partial-warrior->Settler I can settle a city t25 (at the ok spot I already found). Probably then go another capital worker, warrior in new city, and start setting up an oracle chop/overflow while getting another settler out in the mid 30's. Don't wnat to spend too much time fiddling with it right now though until I can see the rest of the nearby terrain.

So I can oracle (using current meh 2nd city site) eot40. That should be easily fast enough to get it, but I'm not extremely pleased with how it impacts my settler and worker production. 2nd settler produced eot39, 3rd worker produced eot39.
While it isn't useful for whipping at all, the 2nd city site is pretty good at making settlers at size 2 b/c of all the hammers, and the gems beakers are what allow me to get priesthood by t40.
Basically i'm getting the oracle faster than I need it for internal development, since I won't have the spare hammers to make ziggs or forges in the 10-15 turns after i oracle MC. Faster is obviously still better to stop it getting stolen, but need to be careful not to give up actual expansion just for an earlier MC (and easy Great Prophet).
If I delay the construction by uhh, i think it was 6, turns I can get writing and oracle code of laws for a religion. Mm, maybe.
This is also all without hut-gold. that will let me run 100% for longer and probably get priesthood a few turns faster. Or alternatively, research more techs before priesthood.

Taking a break from planning until t5 when I get a border pop to reveal all the plausible 2nd city sites. That will then give me 24 hours to figure out if I'm building a warrior or worker next GoGo fast sim!
Scout popped a hut for 43 gold, which is pretty much as good as a tech in this mod.
As you can see, the hypothesized city 2 site is actually a very very good city... eventually. It is also a pretty meh 2nd city, having only 3-food tiles to grow on unless I spend the worker turns to farm a floodplain for a 4 food tile. I could also move it 1W to get the 1st ring deer, but that requires I get AH which I may or may not have time for, the 43 gold might give me the leeway, we'll see.
On the other hand, at size 2 I can just work plains cows and gems for a good commerce/settler pump. Plains cows is actually best food for settler production since I get the IMP bonus. So I could stagnate there pumping stuff until I pop borders or something. Hmm, maybe.
I'm really hoping for something down south that has like pigs + 2nd food + get some of the floodplains or something. That would be pretty nice. We'll see in 2t.

Is there an easy way to expand the size of the pregiven sandbox? As in add a bunch more rows and columns so I don't run out as I explore more stuff (not sure if it'll be necessary, but seems possible depending on how long I keep the sandbox up)
