Civ4 AI Survivor: Season Three

I'll look to follow this, my internet's slightly better this year (at least it doesn't keep cutting out when I try to buffer streams), and I'll try the random.org thing (picking everything at random) too, if there are no objections.

Thoughts on the game:

Lodbrok with phants and horsies and a weak neighbour looks like the early favourite. Either of Willem the Silent or Kubilai could grow out monstrously and be the late term big dog. Rameses is boned, and I don't see Octavian as an active enough leader to play his decent hand well.

If Ragnar can eliminate or cripple Ozymandias early I think he'll win. If not I'd say Willem blasts off to Planet. Though Uncle Josef could be a dark horse this game

Oh man, I've been playing Civ IV a good deal again, and I'm hype to see this back! I was actually rewatching Season Two a few days ago...gotta get my picks in and have something to say.

A thought on what could be fun for scoring, due to watching Season Two and people wondering: What if there was a guessing category for First War Declaration's date?

We axed the "number of surviving civs" category the last time we ran this because it wasn't that interesting in practice. Everyone would guess either 2, 3, or 4 surviving civs in each game, and there wasn't much to think about. We ended up replacing that with "total number of war declarations", which had a wider range of possible values and created more drama at the end of games. You can usually tell how many leaders will still be alive in the last few turns, but there's always the possibility of one more war.

The other thing to keep in mind is that having too many picking categories can start to make things overly complicated. The six that we have right now feels about right to me. I'm open to the possibility of having more categories down the road, but they would need to be pretty interesting. I'm not sure that "date of first war declaration" stands out enough on its own. Thanks for the suggestions!

Thanks for the preview, it's nice to see the various leaders past performance included.  One nitpick though, the screen shots for Willem and Kublai seem to have been switched.
