This is all clearly my fault If I hadn't had a work project taking 70 hours a week and had another kid I would have been able to make the map already. Bad BRick, bad! whip

In all seriousness, the effort and results RefSteel and Cornflakes are putting in is really great, and I think this will be a much better map than anyone would expect from 2 first-timers making Civ4 maps. I think the time they're putting in is worth it.

I'm not seriously being critical, just having some fun while we wait. But yes, BRick, life priorities man. Get the newborn to pitch in and tell that project to wait. Civ comes first!  hammer lol

I don't get it. Brick brought on another dev (his third!) and it delayed they project. I question the management practices being used here!

Chokes/rushes have been pretty uncommon in these long pitboss games. The general consensus seems to be that while it is possible to cripple a neighbor via rush tactics the likelihood of being the sole beneficiary, or even primary beneficiary, of this is very slim. Most often, the person/persons that makes the biggest gain from this tactic is the victim's other neighbor(s) who likewise gain access to more land by having a stunted neighbor, with the added advantage of not having to invest resources in the choke. Why do all the work and let others reap the benefits? So this has been very infrequently the winning move for the aggressor. Generally speaking, when there is free land to settle you want to do that. Fighting over someone's stuff when you can get your own stuff for free seems to be a better move. But every situation has its own calculations, so I encourage you to get out there and clobber someone.
