[spoilers] wetbandit prioritizes civ4 over more profitable endeavors, again

Finally able to catch up here.  Not much going on with the micro plan, though it does seem that others prioritized and/or were able to get workboats out early and grow.  I'm interested if and how many people grew to 2 before starting the worker.

This pigs site that can split off the capital's pigs and bananas appears to be the best 2nd city spot.  Early BW will help inform the decision.

Found JR4 on T12ish and subsequently scouted his cap.  He's 11 tiles away.  Can't say I'm too thrilled with being next to a creative neighbor.

The grassland hill 1SE of the peak is probably the best "border" city and may require high priority.

JR4's proximity to the SW implies that there's probably another neighbor to my NE.

I had a long day (Standard Excuse) and moved the 0.8/1.0 scout onto open grassland next to one fogged tile.  Risk taking! Of course, there was a goddamn lion on the fogged tile and it ate the scout next turn.  My land is lousy with goddamn lions.  This is a really bad development as my sim somewhat hinged on the scout protecting the settler.  There is, in fact, a goddamn lion 1W of the proposed second city spot.

Workboat netted the clams and here are the demos.  They are good?  Someone grew to 3.  I'm guessing that person is working both the 3/0/1 flood plains.  Otherwise the 14 CY doesn't make sense.

Worker moved to a forest and will start chopping next turn when BW comes in.  I grow to 3 in 2 turns and the new citizen will grow onto a grassland hill mine.  Simmed out switching to a settler at size 3.  Will keep that, at least for the chop, but may need to have a warrior built before sending out the settler.  I'm not inclined to offer up any more Meow Mix to the dominant species which rules my land if I can help it.

Tech will likely be Agri-Wheel-Pottery.

1E of copper has looked the "friendliest" so far.  Settling on the copper is meh.

Given how relatively close everyone is, chariot rushing seems very interesting.  With all the AH happy resources, I'm sure someone will/has headed there.

Second city down.

Will grow to 2 EOT39, complete 2nd warrior, and move to a worker.  Very behind on scouting (JR4 knows someone else), and it will be important to get more map information or at least fogbust.  Cap is going to whip worker at 55/60 EOT34 and overflow into another worker.

Went pottery before agri to get cottages down.  Start will be commerce limited.  Tech plan is Pottery-Agri-AH.

1/1.  For the last time.

It's a race!

Missing that turn sucked.  Lost 2 worker turns and a few hammers.

Hows it been since losing that turn? Any updates?

Not too bad.  Someone had 40cy last turn but whipped down.  Current demos:

Third city founded last turn.  Granary in cap, did the old avoid growth trick last turn, so should grow from 3 to 4 in the next two turns.  Have 4 hammers into the axe and may plan to whip it.  Can send 2 axes down to Mayapan down south, which grew to 2 a while back.  Maintenance is a big drag though, so getting furs on line for the commerce will be nice.  Cottages are down on the FPs, but they will take some time to grow.

I'd also like to get a legitimate Naming Scheme after seeing BGN's "Yokel Harum." That's a fantastic pun. Current food based theme is about as low effort as could ever exist.

Mayapan has a cow and a silk in its 2nd ring down south.  It looks like a very nice city.  I am ignoring Na'Poboy from worker love for the time being (and the amount of workers in general), to try and speed up taking the city.  The axe should be down to start taking pot shots against the city in 3 turns.

Capital is on another settler, Napolinguini goes axe->worker.  Worker aided by a chop and a whip to OF into something else.  It's a whatever food city with poor initial tiles outside of the bronze and pigs, so big growth doesn't seem worthwhile.  It will be abused for workers and basic military.

Capital settler to claim the rice/fur river basin to the NW.  Unless availability of horse dictates otherwise.  The plan is to crash this economy claim space quickly in light of possible incursion everywhere.   shifty

No one has religion, no one went for henge.

Someone is on 2 size 2 cities.  JR4 is CY leader I believe, I guess he was able to leverage optimal placement of CRE cities.

Well, this is convenient.

Not pictured, Settler/axe pair moves to the "c" next turn with 2 workers completing a road on the plains hill to have a TR in place on founding.

Low rolled the first axe fight, will need to heal up a bit until the 2nd axe gets there.  Won't be able to take the city for 3 more turns.  This will be a very nice haul.  That is a plains incense to Mayapan's east, not a wine.
