Stromae Formidable (a lot of his work is amazing, but this one is particularly great)

I'm sorry, but that is incorrect.  wink
It is common knowledge that this is the greatest video featuring Stromae: jive

Yeah that video is hilarious.
What's quite sad on the other hand is that Stromae had a burn-out a few years ago due to his sudden success, and has (let's hope temporarily) stopped working on his music. frown

"What rabiit hole are you dragging us down now?" says my wife.

But she is the one who actually dig out
- the original song
- that Stromae is (apparently) Belgian
- that the song is ten years old and thus (presumably) not cool.

I wouldn't know. I'd never heard of it, but now kind of like it.
It may have looked easy, but that is because it was done correctly - Brian Moore

I didn't want to necro the thread for a random suggestion, but now that it's necro'ed I'll add that the band Bon Entendeur has some really nice songs (they take an old song and make it electro swing while leaving the singer's voice and some of the original instruments). L'amour (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-8jADLcOuU), Le Temps Est Bon (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMWBriHwVrI) and La Rue Madureira (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZtFi_A3M5A) are particularly good.

Edit : Oh and about the last exchange in the thread, Stromae got over his burnout and is apparently preparing an album.

I'm not French, but I majored in French and dove into French music as a way to help myself learn. Loving a lot of these suggestions - I have more to look into! Stromae has already been mentioned, but here are a few of my favorite artists and some of their songs. Hope you enjoy!

Elodie Frégé - La Fille De L'Après Midi (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uyicdku-FJk)
Oldelaf et Monsieur D - Le Café (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Y7ZZsOS4O4) - Odelaf has many more great songs but this one is hilarious
Françoise Hardy - Mon amie la rose (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ICFtXx546A)
Yelle - Ici & Maintenant (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMeyvg1M52k)
Carla Bruni - Quelqu'un m'a dit (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EelX_LwPHbA)
Les Trois Accords - Les amoureux qui s'aiment (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnvI3JnCoC8) - Canadian French
Coeur de Pirate - Danse et danse (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdDYWGyuA7s) - Canadian French

It's gone cry! The thread necro had me looking to watch this again and now it's been taken down. Anyone know another way to see it?
