This change wasn't done because of balancing, but rather because player requested it. For this BUG test version I don't care as much about balancing. If this needs changing you have to take this to Krill (when he returns, maybe?). Right now my main responsibility with regards to RtR is the BUG implementation and coding additions to python/DLL.

Oh it wasn't a jab at you Charriu, it was a jab at the other players. Idk what they were thinking with those votes.

I never took it as a jab. Nonetheless I felt the need to explain it for documentation purposes.

So far Spiritual + anything is in the lead !

Make Spiritual + Industrious happen. Definitely something you haven't played before.

Starting Screen:
The fog and corner (i.e. non-BFC) tiles might possibly still change, but should actually be at least roughly accurate at this point.
Let me know in the tech thread if the image isn't visible or something. I won't be reading players' threads until I'm finished with the rest of the map: I actually asked a non-civ playing, non-forum member friend randomize the starting images and am posting them without looking at them to be sure knowledge of different players won't influence the way I try to balance things. That's probably more extreme than necessary, but I'll also enjoy the surprise when the map is fully finished and I finally find out which screens are whose!

There are three different types of food, covering all potential starting food techs. Taking a mysticism civ should not be a problem.
An interesting option would be Asoka of the Aztecs. Cheap courthouses, get a nice religion early, aka don't fail at doing what I did in pb46, and leverage spiritual to get the right civics ASAP without waiting for the sluggish first great person or doing a hard civic swap.
Brennus of Byzantium seems like an "overkill" combo. You get +2 happy for free, and then 2 happy for connecting the strategic resources you're guaranteed to get by the kind mapmaker? Sounds like a deal. However, this combo means war and only war.
Saladin of Spain is another one. Get discount on your UB, which seems like a nice economic bandaid (castle trade route + decreased maintenance sounds niceish). Not very interesting and too late game, though.
And I just realized I was choosing leaders and civs with same letter, must be some sort of subconscious bias.
TBH, given the map size I do not think this should be the game where you defy your war-like nature.

Seems strange the start is so near tundra now that I think about it. I expect a surprise - pleasant or not.
