What I was trying to find out was how to access the dotmapping tool that I've seen in some people's reports. Please, can anybody explain that?
Some questions about your crash:
- What happened first? The crash or the promp to open the file?
- How did this behave after you opened or allowed to open this help file? Does it still crash after that?
- It looks like you are on Windows 10 and the GoG version? Can anybody else confirm that this crash happened for them too with these settings?

I extracted the mod as I usually do into the BTS mods folder (YES in the right BTS folder), but I'm only seeing BUG beta .3 on my selections. Any idea guys?

I see that other were able to connect, so it can't be a fundamental problem with the mod. What's the folder structure inside the mod. Maybe there is another RtR_BugBeta_0.10 folder inside?

Thing's I've done wrong recently and had to correct:
1) Double check the mods file path is the BTS-inside-of-BTS location C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword\Mods
2) Make sure it extracted as \Mods\RtR_BugBeta_0.10 not \Mods\RtR_BugBeta_0.10\RtR_BugBeta_0.10
3) close and re-start Civ 4

I dunno man. Said \Mods\RtR_BugBeta_0.10 is "not a valid folder".

This might not solve your problem right now, but rather a later one. You need to start civ with administrator permissions.

1. The prompt appears first, then maybe half a second later the e Application Unresponsive Window
2. the window with the security warning for the help file is blocked while the Application Unresponsive Window is up (can't hit buttons) and closes together with Civ
3. both correct, also running civ in windowed mode fwiw
and thanks SD and Ruff for the help with the dotmapping tool

I think I have a problem with my start. Game says I have a settler and a scout. I should have a tracker.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

As you might have guessed I'm not on Windows 10 and this doesn't happen on my end, hence why I asked. Luckily this bug is easily avoided by not clicking the help button. If you need to access the help files, you can find them in a folder inside the mod, shouldn't be to hard to find.
I know this is a lot to ask, but if you have the time, could you download the normal BUG mod and see if this happens there, too?
Also did you run with administrator permissions? Maybe that changes something.
