I've got contacted by joshy 5 hours ago:

joshybravo963 Wrote:Hi, I have a little problem.
Last night when I log in the game, I see I have a trade request from commodore, but then before I see what the deal is, my game crash.
When I log in again the deal is not there anymore.
The trade deal is important for this turn but I don't want everyone to restart and play their turns again. Is there anything I can do?

Obviously I was mildly spoilered by this (haven't met both of them). I'm writing this here to inform the lurkers about the issue, so that more people might be able to help him. I already explained him that the only way to get back the deal is a reload and if too many people have already played it is unlike a reload will be issued. I also explained to him the usual best practice of pausing the game and asking for a reload in the tech thread next time.

T99:

Lazteuq did move his units as expected in T98, but sadly his immortal did what every immortal is capable to do: Killing itself. Up in the north he did not continue to step into my trap for the axeman. So I opted to make similar show of force in the hope that he just deletes that axeman.

With 4 axemen and 4 phalanxes in the east of my territory, I'm thinking about visiting Lazteuq's border city just to see how everything is there.

Back in my capitol I'm building one of those cheap temples so that I can spawn a great prophet faster and be more sure it is one instead of the great merchant.

I also noticed that I managed to contact way more people with my lone workboat all in the west. So far I met 11 players, which is more then every single one of those players met. Right now I'm getting KTB from all those 11 players for Writing plus the modifiers from all three prereq-techs. crazyeye

Oh and last but not least. I send GKC a request to join the war against Lazteuq. Not because I need his help right now, no, I just want to see Lazteuq's empire burn. devil

Wow, I did not expect that when I loaded up the game. eek But let me begin with any deals. First I got a copper for copper deal from GKC as an answer to my demand of a war declaration against Lazteuq. The I got a peace deal and then cease fire from Lazteuq, which I declined after looking around what happened. I still want to kill the axeman north of me and maybe the workboat coming my way. And of course the visit to the border city as well as bringing GKC into the war. After the deals I got time to explore the map and holey moley, what game is Ramk playing. Wow. He is weaker in almost all statistics compared towards Mjmd, but he captured/razed the fourth city in this war.

This raze is especially good for me as Old Camp can use the improved fish next turn and with further border pops the wine island is safe for me to settle. Of course I am a bit afraid of Ramk's troops at my border even though they are clearly not aimed at me. That's why I send him another fish for fish deal and moved 2 axemen in range to guard Old Camp if need be.

As you can see Lazteuq tries to escape northward with his axeman and I'm chasing him with my chariot and axeman. At least this will seem like a plausible cause why I rejeceted his peace offer for him. By the way Lazteuq if you read this later. I declined the cease fire mainly so that the turn order remains the same.

Lastly Lazteuq researched Monarchy and switched into Serfdom and Hereditary Rule. So no whipping from him for the next 10 turns. That could be a problem for him. I would have switched into the civics after my opponent accepted the peace. He's also taking some anarchy turns for this switch. The good thing of course is that I get KTB for Monarchy starting next turn.

Stay tuned for a bigger T100 report, which I am preparing right now, but wanted to keep it seperate from the regular reporting.

Big T100 report:

First a overview shot of my empire. There's still enough room to settle, but I'm not in a hurry right now, because all the important resources are already secured. I have another settler next turn, which will head east to settle the fur island. I only built one missionary so far, which spread Hinduism to my border city of Freeja, because I definitely will need border pops and culture defense there. New Nobilia and Figaro are still missing Hinduism, but I hope that a shrine in my holy city will take care of spreading my religion. So far I have 6 cities with Hinduism. I know that Ramk and Lazteuq both have at least 1 Hinduism city and I even expect more from Lazteuq since he switched into my religion, so a shrine should cover my economy fairly well.
As you can see I also have a road network for defensive purposes. Interestingly enough, even without roads all cities except for Old Camp would be connected. You can also see that I didn't chop that many forests so far in fact only 5 so far. At this point I want at least Mathematics before I chop any further. I also wasn't in that much need of extra production so far because with enough food the whip was already good enough. Another small thing I was looking out for is chopping and growing. For example in the west I chopped a forest N of the pig and left the tile unimproved so that another forest might grow there.
Techwise the plan is to go for Monarchy next for the fun SPI civic switch game and some happiness. Depending on my great person I will go Iron Working with a Great Prophet, so that I can connect gems for even more happiness and of course of Iron. With a Great Merchant I will need to tech Mathematics so that I can bulb Currency with it. Of course I could send him on a trade mission, but that would have to go to a different continent, which is a bit to risky for my taste and I also would like the bonus sooner then later.
I will run another priest next turn to increase my odds of a Great Prophet. My plan is to spawn another Great Prophet after the first one, which I will use to bulb Theology in order to build the Apostolic Palace.

Crop yield is a bit of a problem for me all the other statistics are fine. Main cause for that of course is my lower amount of cities compared to the others. Also by the way civac and Miguelito/Rusten are already at 15+ cities. Good thing they are neighbors on the same continent and can keep each other in balance.

I almost got even in the military department with two of my fellow continent-neighbors. Of course Mjmd and Ramk are in different war-happy spheres.

Cities

My capitol will serve as a hybrid commerce, production and specialist city in the beginning. Production mainly to build some more wonders and specialist because of the Temple of Artemis. As you can see there are already some mature cottages in the BFC, which the capitol will use mainly as soon as some modifier buildings are in play here.

My holy city will need a Shrine and Market at some point. I'm very happy that I finished a lighthouse there so that as soon as the capitol takes over the cottages the city still can work the coast tiles. Looking at this I noticed that I should probably start another settler here in favor of the axeman, so that I don't run into unhappy citizens. Main purpose of this city for the near future is to provide some galleys and more workers.

Another city with a stronger focus on commerce thanks to the gold tile, but as you can see from my signs I plan to convert this city into a production city later on. Yes, that is a lumbermill which you see there and you can expect more in the future. I figured until I chop those forests with Mathematics and build some watermills there I can still use the tiles and lumbermills are now reduced to 5 turn buildtime. With Mjmd's wine city gone I have enough food in Old Camp so that Amn can use the cow and give the rice to a city west of it eventually.

Poor poor New Nobilia was treated badly in this game so far. The long term plan like with Amn is a production city with mills. For now It will use all those available food tiles and copper to build more workers and military.

Township will be a great commerce/production city later one again with some mills in place and the gems. For now it will grow some more and build settlers for the north and east expansion.

Defense, defense, defense and production, production, production. Do I need to say more?

My northern shipyard for the future with mines and horses present and enough food it can cover all the water unit needs up here. I'm thinking about dropping a monastery here just so that my borders pop sooner to secure the island.

My newest addition. Grow, pop borders, build a lighthouse, work coast tiles.

I've been thinking about my western border quite some time already. Mainly I've been thinking how best to defend that border and I think I found a solution. I noticed during singleplayer games that you can build forts on top of forests and jungle. Well placing a fort on a hill with jungle in the west would provide a tile with 100% defense, which can't be bombarded. Seeing that my side of the jungle is very poor in resources and tile yields, just placing a fort there for defense might be the best solution.

Lazteuq gave in and deleted the axeman in the north, too. In the great scheme of our conflict that is:

Lazteuq loses:
2 axemen
1 immortal
=
100 hammers

Me
1 warrior
1 city with monument and other stuff
= 145+ hammers

Or otherwise we are not even yet. hammer

He's propably expecting or hoping for a peace deal from me, so I moved my small forces towards his border position.  devil

To be fair I don't expect to cause any major damage with that or even take the city. My main goal is to keep Lazteuq distracted so that I can settle the fur island in relative peace and maybe divert forces on my side of the border so that GKC can attack Lazteuq's weakened northern front.

You can also see that I have a galley nearby. The settler will bord next turn and I expect the fur city to be founded in T105.

I hate to dissapoint my lovely lurkers, but I offered peace this turn. I scouted ahead with one spearman and saw that the border city is well enough defended without any chariots from me. I don't want to wait until that arrives especially because there are other important news. Ramk and Mjmd signed peace. The had a major battle last turn with heavy looses on both sides, but more on Mjmd's. Still Mjmd has a bigger power score then me and that worries me. Mjmd is also ready to resettle the wine island. Right now I definitely want to avoid any conflict with Mjmd not only because of the military disadvantage, but also because all my trade routes to the other continents go through his territory.

Still everything is in plan to settle my own fur island near Lazteuq. I also made sure that the following small micro plan works in the upcoming turns:

1. Research Monarchy in the upcoming 6 turns
2. Make sure every city has something to whip in those 6 turns
3. The turn before Monarchy finishs whip every city with Hinduism
4. When Monarchy finishs, whip all the other cities and switch into Serfdom and Paganism

Serfdom mainly to increase my income and improve my worker force. Paganism only because I do not plan to spread Hinduism via Missionaries, I want to build units during those 10 turns of Serfdom and Organized Religion costs at least 4 gold right now. I could still build Missionaries in those cities that already have a monastery at that point.

I know it's risky to switch into Serfdom, when Mjmd might attack. But I do think he might want to recover a bit after the last conflict.

Lazteuq offered peace back. I was a bit hesitant to take it for a moment, because I remembered that GKC send me a copper for copper deal after my war demand. But I saw in the advisor that he hasn't declared war on Lazteuq, so I don't feel too bad to sign peace.
The fur island will be settled next turn and without any settlers from Lazteuq there, there is no chance of him denying me the island. Mjmd has a 2 axeman and 1 spearman on his rebuild island city, which is a bit worrying. Good thing I already have two axeman in Old Camp. Just in case and to improve our relations I send him an open border deal.

Far in the west I met Picadily. But more importantly I discovered where Iron is. Since there can't be mines on grasland there must be a resource of iron on that tile. And because Ichabod's territory is mirrored to mine, I now know where at least 1 iron resource is. I made a mental note to settle that island in the near future.
