Turn 259
Look around. It seems that spies have killed some of our improvements, we need to make sure we rebuild them.
Right now, we are fighting Galleon-to-Galleon wars, which will be quite a slog; so I bump us to Representation, and set research to Chemistry [8 turns, at 0% science!

].
Turn 260
I found Ragnar's primary invasion force.
I throw all available Galleons at him, but only kill the three caravels.
I notice we have two Great Engineers sitting around; I use both of them to bulb Chemistry. Military Tradition selected next in order to get some Cavs for zone-defense.
Turn 261
I realize that Frigates require Iron, and am forced to make this humiliating deal with Cyrus.
WHOEVER NEXT PERSON IS, make SURE to cancel this deal, it's a killer on our economy.
We get a Great Artist in GV.
Turn 262
I manage to delay Ragnar a turn with various Galleon antics, but he still manages to land this:

The AI managed to land on the only road to reinforce Dover from the west, too.
Turn 263
Fortunately, the AI idiotically bombards down Dover's defenses! And I manage to slip in enough rifles that he doesn't have enough actual units to take the city now!
Turn 265
As the battle around Dover continues to rage [I've almost wiped him out], I happen to look up around the Scapegoat City.
Where in hell did they come from?! Fortunately, they picked the wrong place to attack; I suicide two cats and a treb, and then clean out the whole thing, with only one rifle lost at ~96% odds.
Ghenghis will now talk, so I get peace fro 610 gold, with the hope that now Ragnar will be more willing, too. Oh, and we completely run through our giant surplus.
![frown frown](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Sorry guys, but I really needed peace... and iron... and some upgraded rifles...
Turn 266
Ragnar drops more guys off by Dover:
Fortunately, I saw the galleons coming, and Dover is reinforced with two CG2 rifles. Defenses are running thin along the east coast, though.
Turn 267
Military Tradition is in, research set to Steel. The Dover Defense Core wipes out Aztec invaders.
Somewhere around here we get another Great Artist, too [in Bibracte, I think].
Turn 270 [hand-off]
Humongous surprise, we win the AP election. Also, Ghenghis declares war on Brennus!
![jive jive](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/jive.gif)
This is quite possibly the BEST thing that could have happened to us, the two biggest military threats in the game beating the crap out of each other. I mean, just look at the power charts:
Yeah, let's not tangle with Ghenghis.
Sorry, but I forgot to take pix of legendary progress. Suffice to say, it is quite a bit slower now that we are at 70% culture. And Nakor, make SURE to cancel stupid iron deal.
