Because, like me, you're a masochist.

If I modkilled him, it instantly cleared fenn, and gave town trustworthiness to every one of his posts. A) It does not totally clear Fenn because SK and Godfather (example novice). B) there are other ways to punish instead of modkilling. For example take away his powers (IIRC that happened to the Doctor in WW2). You don't even need to announce them just tell Gaz in private. Because you love to see us players jump through your hoops and it is interesting to watch the unexpected creative ways people will play their roles. If the players have fun and enjoy your work it gives a good feeling. And being the God feels nice . (July 16th, 2016, 06:05)Jabbz Wrote: It was a very fine line, and it put me in a bind. I thought about it for a good while, but decided the best thing for the game was for me to remain silent, leaving it up to the group to decide whether or not he was full of it. I know Gaz felt pretty bad once he realized what he had done, so I doubt it is likely to happen again. All things considered though, IIRC that rule was put into place to prevent people from copying a Mod's specific writing style in order to achieve greater credibility, and the wording of the rule strongly implies direct quotes are the problem. Gaz didn't break the rule to that point in my opinion. Direct quotes are definitely the problem that arose to deal with, but for me the point is being able to invoke the mod to support ones own arguments - because you can't argue with the mod, it's practically Word of God. This allows you to build an a 'fact' that you can fall back upon, and is grossly unfair. Its something that should be invoked rarely, and only when it is clearly necessary and appropriate. Lying about it is thus hugely problematic for the game. (I understand that Gaz says he didn't lie. I'm interested in the principled argument here, not specifics.)

And as Rowain says, the game is not supposed to be about meta. Here, lying there would lead a conversation to centre around how a GM would balance a game. Quote:There is also a lne that should not be crossed like claiming little time or personal problems as excuses for not participating much. There is no law against it but using it simply makes it impossible to believe someone for whom it is true which doesn't do the game any good. +1. On a lighter note, pronunciation time!
