Does that make for instance dealing with custom maps easier (I'm sure it makes screenshots at least much easier). My only hesitancy is due to single player (assuming it's enjoyable) seeming very well suited to playing on the go...

I actually have it on both because of this exact dilemma lol. I play through steam for MP because screenshot handling on the switch would be practically impossible, but the switch is much more convenient for SP games due to the portability. I guess it depends on how much those individual issues matter to you.

Thanks scooter. I’ve never played any form of AW game. How robust is the single player experience?

EDIT: Also scooter, given you’re presumably playing SOME of your MP on the Switch, how much does the screen and/or controls harm the experience?

I've joined, just waiting for Hesmyrr to ready.

I thought Nuru was bad now that she was nerfed to double-cost?

I definitely wish there was cross-platform progression between PC/Switch/Xbox--that's the main thing that keeps me from buying it on both (mostly since you have to complete the campaign and do a decent amount of arcade to unlock the two (meaningful) extra commanders).

I pressed ready.

Is there a way of knowing when it's your turn other than logging into the multiplayer lobby?

Steam should display a green notification, same as when you receive a new inventory item. It's a neat feature.

Yeah, i dont know if there is an easier way to get those notifications to pop up, but i have to physically open steam to see the notification. So i just usually check the MP lobby a couple times after work to see when/if i will be likely to play that evening.
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. Steam definitely has to be open to see those.

I actually prefer the controls on the switch over PC controls, but that may be due to 1) my AW history of playing on a handheld and 2) playing on a laptop touchpad which obviously isn't as precise as a mouse.

Overall, I actually don't love the campaign very much, but they've done some nice things like introducing a mid-mission save state that'll make me return to it soon. The issue I had is some of the missions are flat out unfair (enemy units you aren't prepared for spawning at map edge), so to sink 40 minutes into a mission and then lose and have to restart the whole thing because I couldn't see the future. I think the campaign as a whole is one of the weakest parts of the game. This may be a minority opinion actually, but it's just how I feel about it. It's definitely robust in terms of content at this price point. The challenge stuff is cool though, and the MP options are really deep and great.
