Looking for suggestions:

A couple friends of mine just recently installed the game, and are currently at summoner level 10 and 5, respectively. I've played a few games with them so far.

Q1: Should I be playing my main account, or a smurf?

My instinct thus far has been to play a smurf, on the logic that I want to avoid putting either of them up against a level 30 summoner until they have a few more laps under their belt. Of course, this risks a mismatch the other way round....

Q2: Which champs should I be playing?

My current answer is that I should probably be concentrating on supports. We won't win as often as we would were I were carrying, but they'll have an easier time learning the game than if I were instead off soloing somewhere.

One counter argument is that winning is a lot more fun than losing, and by carrying I give my friends a larger margin for error.

Any of you that have been carrying me along want to contribute suggestions?

ps: does anybody else suspect a correlation between the public TS3 server and bad lag spikes in game? We chucked four deaths last night on lagged out champions, and the night before I was playing a game with two phantom towers in top lane....

Nah, just the Riot servers again, cause I had the same phantom towers without Teamspeak on.

Don't smurf. If you triple-queue with them, you will get around 10-20 in terms of summoner level I believe. Not too hard for them, but should be easy enough for you. By not smurfing, you also make it a "sink or swim" situation while also at a level where you should be able to dominate just by last hitting well in the laning phase/knowing how to play situations tactically.

Why is anyone playing on the public TS3 server now?

Don't jungle because top will be most likely left 1v2 and will get absolutely murdered. Don't play supports because it puts too much pressure on the others both in lane and in teamfights. So you're left with either carry or tank. Tank will probably be better since at low levels it's rare to find a good tank. Also, as you said, as a tank you won't be dominating all games 30-0 but still helping your team out alot.

Alistar capable of stunning entire teams and dominating lanes and Janna restarting fights with a press of a button and stunlocking people away from your team sure puts a ton of pressure on your mates.

You actually can carry with supports, it's just a wee bit harder than with, say, solo top Udyr or Jax or nonsense like that. Seriously I think that some tanky DPS like Mordekaiser, Jax or Udyr at the solo lane is your best bet. Or AP Sion. Honestly anything that farms easy and with some bulk/sustain. Irelia fits the bill. Any tanky DPS with a Wriggles does. Lanewick. Whatever.

In your position Voice, I'd smurf and use those games to learn different champs.

Yes, when I started my US account, half of the players where smurfs. People with account level ~5 would suddenly help the jungler with blue, go for dragon, and call MIAs...yikes lol

Yup played a game on EU today (only level 8 there), laned vs an Ashe who intelligently used hawkshot to kill people who went into brush and would do some really nice dodges on skillshots while running away through bushes.

Whatever the case, she built total glass cannon so one dark binding and she melted. Kinda similar to the Ashe in the CLG vs Fnatic game, built zero survivability.
