ASM you playing? And yeah that was a well done mission - though also lucky. I noticed we have some DPLs in inventory. Good thing they weren't used against us.

dazedroyalty Wrote:Mind control was effectively negated this game because I managed to keep good lines of sight and kill all aliens (save that one) on the first turn I spotted them. That will only become more important as we battle bigger ships and bases. Regarding MC suceptibility, there isn't much to add since not many troops got mind controlled. Brian S seemed to handle it all pretty well. Well played - especially riding your luck to get away with zero casualties. I had a similar issue with seeing movement on the USO upper decks from outside. However seeing through the corners works both ways and you were lucky in that they musn't have been able to see you at turn end so you didn't get mass MC attacks whilst still outside. It looks like the weakest minds have been weeded out of the squad (except for Pling and T-Hawk) so hopefully we should be in a better state until we can get MC labs going. Good ideas on the thermal shock launchers - but don't try it on Lobstermen as they revert to melee attacks if you go close. dazedroyalty Wrote:Brian S seemed to handle it all pretty well He looks to be more and more like a chip of the old block with each mission. Good throwing, likes sleeping, and too bullheaded (read bloody stubborn in an arguement) to be mind controlled. Next you'll be showing his sprite as short, fat, hairy, bearded and pink!

Wasn't totally clear on the new recruits, so just added the new names I saw to the active roster. Haphazard was a third clone, a second clone slipped in there unannounced. Not sure which commander authorized that.

Nice work, dazedroyalty! No losses!
Yes, that should definitely be haphazard3. Two clones have already died. dazedroyalty Wrote:Fortunately, Lt. Pling takes it down with Aimed pistol shot--he may be weak in the mind but he can shoot! Been giggling at this off & on since I read it last night - new sig dazedroyalty Wrote:Ichabod fails to thread the needle (i.e. door) and hits Pling in the head! Fortunately, Pling's armor and the relatively weak sonic pistol only cause minor injury. I suspect that's a sign Lt. Pling needs to find a different counsellor for the team ... Another mission where I end up with a headache, not damn surprising I'm weak in the mind

It's More Fun to be Jack of All Trades than Master of One.
Very nice mission, looks like aggressive scouting worked wonders Also good job on assaulting the sub properly, can get tricky with all those doors and stairs.
No, I'm not sure about no reaction fire for Deep Ones. I'll run a quick test. Gustaran Wrote:Do you guys still accept lurkers for your "recruits" names list ? Actually we never have enough recruits |
