[SPOILERS] Novice's nominal nonchalance

I killed Nicolae's warrior on the Sheep (I had to to save my road). Lost one warrior in the process.

The correct move for Nicolae would be to move both War Chariots 2N or 2NE so he can pillage my road on the sheep. If he attacks the city instead I might have a chance. Cannon War Chariot fodder is streaming in from my other cities.
I have to run.

Screenshot shows 3 warriors in BB. We can settle on copper on t39.

What a lovely game you posted earlier, Novice. Just finished stage ten (all perfect scores til now smile). Having a lot of fun and feeling pretty good about myself when managing to crack what is needed for the stage. The level/game design in the game is awesome.

Nicolae attacked Beach Ball:

Looking promisingly like there's a chance he won't pop it I think? smile

I'm worried about where he's put his other WC tho, is it about to appear near Ice Cream?

Nicolae whipped his capital from 6 down to 3, possibly for a Settler? His power dropped 4k - 2k for the Warrior you killed and 2k for pop.

Seven planted a new city, grew his two existing ones (cap 4 to 5, city2 2 to 3) which accounts for 1k of his power increase, guessing the other 4k is 2xWarriors bringing him to 5.

Serdoa grew his 3rd city to size 2.

Land is hard to sort out - Seven got some of it with his new city, but not all of it. Perhaps Mackoti got a border pop for his second city? I'll have to wait to see what happens later to figure it out.

So yeah, Nicolae attacked with both War Chariots, and didn't get particularly favourable results. One of them only has 4 hitpoints left. I guess this means I have to start paying attention to the game again...

Situation after my moves. The border pop revealed Nicolae's third War Chariot. I whipped Beach Ball for another warrior, and I will whip another warrior from scratch on t39 which will upgrade to a spear, because I'll settle on the copper. I really wish I had managed my northern units better so that I could settle NE of the copper instead. frown (There are two workers on the sign that says pillage, btw.)

Sandcastle and Ice Cream can also whip warriors on t39 that will complete as spears.
I have to run.

Nothing really happened to the rest of the world this turn. Nicolae got some bad combat luck & lost the healthier of his 2 injured WCs, which was the only change for anyone in power.

Serdoa met Mackoti, we see the war dec in the event log.

I think we get Mackoti's graphs end of this turn, if we do could I have an EOT save please, that'd be handy smile

Yeah, Nicolae attacked the city with his healthiest War Chariot at 80% odds and lost. He then moved his other War Chariot to the sheep, but I had 33% odds on it with a warrior so I killed it losing one warrior in the process. Which means the situation down south is this:

Nicolae has one full-health War Chariot, but I have 5 warriors. And the power graph doesn't show any reinforcements on their way.

This fortuitous turn of events allowed me to settle Backrush as a decent city instead of a desperation move on the copper:

On t40 I can road the copper, unless Nicolae attacks with his warrior and takes very little damage. If he does that I'll finish the warrior in Backrush and I should be able to safely road the copper on t41, so I think that will be okay. It would mean Nicolae could pillage the sheep down south, but crucially he needs to pillage the sheep pasture before he can pillage the road underneath it.

If Nicolae moves NE with his warrior to pillage the road between Backrush and Sandcastle, that's ok, as the trade connection works without a road thanks to the river. So if he does that I'll just build an axe to deal with it. I'll probably 2-whip an axe out of Sandcastle regardless, and overflow to a spear or a granary.

Demographics show that I'm not totally out of this yet, my GNP sucks but that's partially because I'm first to 4 cities. Seven has set up a very sound economy though, and Serdoa has Stonehenge and cheap forges already. But at least I'm still relevant.

Oh and we're still 20EPs shy of getting Mackoti's graphs. I had to put more EPs on Nicolae this turn to keep his graphs.
I have to run.

Note to self: Adopt Hinduism on turn 40 to avoid unhappiness in Beach Ball.

Oh and this link's useful for finding city names.
